Should we storm the court if we defeat SMUt tonight?

I wouldn't for SMU.  It's not for a league title and they aren't ranked.  Hell, we have a better history the last quarter century.  We have  NIT championship and have won a round in the NCAAs recently (and two other trips to the Big Dance since 2000).  The Mustangs haven't gotten to the Round of 32 in the Dance since 1988 (they were NIT runnerups a decade ago, so that's pretty good.) and only have two trips to the NCAAs since then.

Court storming is for winning games against teams you’re not typically on par with. This does not apply here.

If we do it tonight against SMU, get prepared for a bunch of trash from Pony fans on social, "Super Bowl" comments and whatnot.

I agree with others though, it'd be fun for students. Wish I got to experience that kind of opportunity as a student.

I say why not.  We should cut the kids some slack and let them have a little fun.  We should allow anything that may bring the students back again in my mind.

All of you saying "no"...  I get it.   It's not like we're stunning a ranked opponent, winning a postseason tournament, etc....

However, there are about 45,000,000,000+ threads on GMG chastising students for not showing up to various games through the years. 
If the students decide to storm the floor, jump around, get amped-up, then continually return for the rest of the home games... that's a win.
Not to mention, SMU currently has a better overall record and is ahead of us in the conference standings.   It's not the worst time to do it.

Go for it Mean Green!   Have fun!   Most importantly, Come Back!

I got to experience it vs Texas Tech and it was a blast. No idea if it made any basketball sense in terms of who was the better team but none of us cared. Beating a team that thinks we’re beneath them is always fun.

Its the last time SMU will ever play at UNT.  If the students want to rush the court let them have a good time.

It shouldn't be.   
Us, along with TCU & UTA should have a round-robin each year to crown the metroplex champs.  Rotate home/away between teams each year.  If tied, point diff crowns the champs.   It just makes too much sense, and since there are so many non-conference games in basketball, it should be fairly easy to schedule.

Agree with this (although it's probably not the last time for OOC/tournaments).

I wouldn't rush the court but if the students want to, let them. Maybe they have fun, become more invested in the program, and keep coming back. Don't expect the kids coke to games when you won't let them have fun when they show up.
