Wow dodn't know he had been there 18 years.   Set to retire in 6 months.  Makes you wonder if they have known about this and were hoping they could let him exit stage left.

So you're saying Romo fumbled it away at the last minute?

UTSA President Romo “looks forward” to clearing his name

While he did not give details about the complaint, sources say Romo’s leave was connected to the firing of two people in his office that could be viewed as retaliatory.

Sources who have direct knowledge of the investigation said the complaint against him was related to an allegation of sexual harassment. They also reported that Sonia Martinez, Romo’s chief of staff, was placed on leave, but it was not clear why and she couldn’t be reached for comment.

Sources told the Express-News that Romo’s chief of staff, Sonia Martinez, may have been involved somehow, and while emails to Martinez bounced back, the university wouldn’t confirm whether she, too, was put on leave.

Well this all sounds interesting, and it sure is fun to read bad things about UTSA. But I kind of think that independent of whether they will eventually find Romo to have commited misconduct or not, UTSA athletics is likely not gonna be influenced at all. Athletics hasn't been mentioned yet, and he was on his way out anyway.

All of this talk about KFC's head president in trouble, and no mention of Colonel Sanders.

Exactly.

UTSA has a history of replacing leadership with absolutely no falloff in effectiveness.

Darrell Hammond, Norm MacDonald, Jim Gaffigan, George Hamilton, Vince Kartheiser, and now Billy Zane.

Whoever they get to replace this guy, all they have to do is paint him gold or put him in a zany costume and people will still keep buying tickets to UTSA games, whether or not they're doing it on purpose.

I heard that the complaint about a vindictive disciplinary action against Mrs. Martinez was that she advocated for students to get a big 'ol cookie when they graduate, as the Colonel commanded, but that Romo sharply disagreed.
