I was hoping to see this - a guy like Chico who can put 41 on a BigXII team and a guy who can keep the scores down of some of the toughest outfits in the BigXII. I'm glad to know that he wants to be here and can see the same potential we all can see. This could be the winning coaching combination.

Didn't think any hc would have retained Canales because of the divided loyalties it would create. I think this shows how confident that McCarney is with his ability. I am not sure that Canales won"t get a better opportunity, but a great first hire for McCarney.

Its amazing that the most pleasing part of today's new is that Coahc Canales is remaining at UNT. Sounds like a poromotion and hopefully a pay raise for him!

I am so excited about next season after hearing McCarney speak and especially after hearing that Chico is coming back! New stadium, alot of returning players, solid coaching staff. What more do we need?!?!?! I am going on record as predicting a 7-5 season next year. Trip to a bowl game long overdue! Time for UNT to tread its own path just as TCU has done over in Fort Worth! GO MEAN GREEN
