They've both toppled some big teams in recent years, and Ga. So. only lost to Ga. Tech and NC State by a total of 5 points this year. Those aren't the teams I'm worried about whether it was worth moving up.

How the hell did SMU go from bowls to not being able to win just one game? J Jones that bad? I am kind of mystified

Guess we'll see what happens when they get their new coach. I think they'll be better next year, but I know they can't get much worse then they are now. These fools seriously will go 0-12, maybe 1-12. And being blown out in all the losses.

Yeah I'm kinda curious about how they could've gotten this bad this quickly myself. Granted last year they weren't great, but they still won 5 games including playing UCF close in Dallas. Just a terrible team now, my god.

They also only squeezed past their paid sacrificial lamb, Montana, by a point last year. Otherwise they would only have pulled out 4.

Take a look at their basketball program and you can see what money paired with a decent hire can do. SMU will be competitive well before the NT/SMU series runs out.
