While Licking Our Wounds: What Rock Concert Would U Like To See 1'st In New Stadium...

Rock Band: The Eagles with UNT alum Don Henley (if hell hasn't frozen over or Henley and Frey aren't fighting with each other again with those terrifically high musician egos) :)

Who I'd Like To Sing National Anthem At 1st Game in New Stadium? Uh.................Norah Jones (wearing a black Victoria Secret neglige' that would offend every woman in the stadium)! :rolleyes: (Wait a minute--can I say that)? :o

How about The Reverend Horton Heat for a rock concert...??

And maybe Edie Brickell and Paul Simon doing the National Anthem...

Ol' Paul is looking pretty rough these days; jeez, how old is he? And wasn't his wife Edie's group "the Boehemians most all UNT College of Music alums?

I saw Edie on campus quite a bit during my school days... She was quite the celeb...

You might convince her and Paul to do the National Anthem...

And, yes, New Bohemians are largely alums...

How about a group composed of NT alums: Don Henley, Nora Jones, Meat Loaf, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and heck even bring Pat Boone and you could get a great group of jazz musicians.

Add UNT alum Michael Martin "Wildfire/"Whats Forever For" Murphy and you do have a winner there, GrandGreen.

How about Tom "Bones" Malone and "Blue Lou" Marini? Maybe they can get the band back together for one night only. We're on a missino.

I have it on good authority that Henley is flashing "Hook 'em Horns" and saying it's because he's a Texas boy at shows in OK. If only he had seen this thread the first 46 times we posted it in the last 5 years and been enticed to come back home.

Until then, I fear we lost another fan...

      Yeah... we need that protest photo reposted. THAT is the reason our athletic support sucks. When only 10% of your student body cares about sports to begin with you're set up to fail. Then when you give that 10% no reason to care about UNT sports you're destined to fail. Here we are, right in between suckitude and failure with very minimal room for error.

      I've said forever that the Cowboys aren't keeping someone from going to a North Texas game. Now, I do believe that Texas, A&M, Tech, OU, OSU, and Arky are reasons people won't go to our games, but that has so much more to do with the fact that we nuked our fanbase with the 1-aa debacle, which gave those schools tons of t-shirt fans with UNT credit hours and diplomas, as well as the fact that those schools play people that fans want to watch. But I blame the fact that the university's history is to have a football team, but making it cool to not support it. That mindset has prevailed in every facet of the UNT Family and community.

      Had a pretty decent 2021 season. Not sure if he was injured or something after that, but his production dropped off pretty drastically after that. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4428272/juwaun-price I hope he can come in and regain that 2021 form!

      Texas Tech season tickets sold out this year

      Their isolation is definitely beneficial to them. But as to our lowly attendance figures, it has nothing to do with the cowboys during our football season and the mavs during our basketball season. If anything that should be beneficial to us. Do whatever it takes to get named players in front of our players, students, and alum. Partner with them like we did with Frisco, etc. But a Sunday afternoon Cowboy game has very little/nothing to do with our 14k in attendance on Saturday.
