Petrino back to Louisville , Brohm to take over at WKU

A couple of interesting notes:

- Due to his buyout, WKU will effectively make money off of Petrino's one year. His salary of $850,000 is less than the $1.2 million buyout coming their way.

- WKU had a clause in his contract where he must make every effort to schedule a home-and-home to take place within 12 years of his leaving. So basically, WKU will get a home game vs. an ACC opponent due to a clever contract. WKU has been able to play home basketball games vs. Georgia and South Carolina in the past due to these types of clauses.

Incredibly smart contracting by Western Kentucky. Their program benefits from having the big name there for a season and they are able to transition to a good coach who was intimately involved in recruiting and will bring stability.

Wow. Louisville did not just poach one 2014 C-USA head coach, they sent UAB looking too. Garrick McGee agreed to be petrinos OC at UL... I guess it might be fair to say though, that this is rather him fleeing and that it means UAB doesn't have to scrounge to find the 2 cents it would have needeed but not have had to buy him out.

Definitely. The Western Kentucky AD made out like a Bandit on the Petrino deal. That is particularly impressive, as all other places he ever was at were left hurting quite badly in the end.

Louisville's head basketball coach has had similar problems. Screwed a woman in back of a restaurant while an assistant coach stood guard. If memory serves, assistant coach later marries her, messy divorce, sues head coach, public apology, etc.I have slept since this happened, but you get the general idea.
