A Question Of Epic Proportions

Given the current landscape of college football, the opening of the new stadium, the money generated by successful college football programs, and the renewed commitment to wining shown by local and other in-state programs over the past 5 years, is this the single-most important hire in NT athletics history?

It's definitely a huge 1 hire stretch.

Can we? Will we?

RV is a very smart guy, and a heck of a AD.

RV is well respected amoung his peers throughout the country.

One day, NT will lose RV to another major college program.

In the mean time, I would bet that RV has been planning ahead

since last year, on how to handle the search for the next

HFC at NT. RV must have a game plan in place for the next HFC at NT.

The first part of his plan was the termination of Coach Dodge.

The remaining parts of RV's plan are being implemented now.

I would not be suprised to find out, that RV already has his own top

candidates list completed, and will follow through with his plan

in a timely manner.

Who knows for sure. Heck, the deal for the next HFC at NT

may already be in place. Like I said, RV is a smart AD/business

man, who is always thinking ahead of the game regarding NT athletics.

RV will make the right choice for the HFC position at NT.

And truth be told, his search probably intensified after our Rice loss at home.

I hope he didn't do all this leg work just to find out he was off the case for a search firm. That be frustrating - like spending hours on a cover letter/resume and then sending them to the wrong job opening or maybe typing a post in Word Perfect and realizing the spacing is all jacked once you dump it in the browser.

I think it is the biggest hire since Fry, and could end up being bigger, if we do it right. I hope the BOR sells out, breaks the piggy bank, mortgages the university's future, and spends an obscene amount of money to hire a top notch college football coach & staff. I know we don't have the boosters to bank roll this kind of move, so I hope the BOR can get it done.
