Zach Orr is retiring

This sucks for Zach. If this is true, I really hope he returns to UNT as an Asst or a grad Asst. if that jives with his life plan.

One thing I know about Zach and his family is that they will make the smart decision for what is best for Zach's long term future. Whatever he decides, I wish him the best of luck.

I can't even imagine what it must be like for him to get there, be all pro, and then retire like this. Zach Orr has to be one of my favorite people I don't actually know. Wish him the best but I know he will excel at whatever he does next. Afterall, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

Sad. He needs to know what is best for him, and if he is ready to abandon the dream of going even deeper and further in the NFL. Hard to have an idea from the outside how bad the medical stuff is. He sure has proven that he "could cut it"  at the NFL level. I second all those folks saying that UNT would be smart to offer him some opportunity asap.

Whoa!  Heartbreaking is right.  One of my all-time favorite players.  He had several pro bowls in his future.  This seems inconceivable, but you have to do what you have to do.  I wish him all the best in the next chapter in his life, and would absolutely love it if he ended up back at UNT in some capacity.

Entered the season as a backup and finished as the Ravens' team leader for tackles. Such a nice and talented guy whose prime was still ahead of him. I hate to see something like this happen to a guy like Orr, but I'm glad he is putting his health and family first. First thing I thought of when I heard was that he needs to be hired on as a coach here, like many before me have suggested.
