I'm a bit annoyed at the collapse. They took their foot off the gas on offense and I'd expect our HC to know better than to do that. You never give the other team life. Glad they squeezed it out. Hopefully getting that first win gives them some momentum moving forward.

Obviously not pretty, but in the end got the W.  Lots of work still needed, but at least bought themselves a little time.  Nice to have a bye week to keep working on things, like ditching that 3 man front, and hopefully be ready to take care of business against ACU.

Congrats to Coach and to Raushenberg! This was a tough game. My takeaway- we can move the ball on offense, the defense is in shambles, Rodgers is our guy, and I’ve never been more excited for the bye week.

Why start the game in a 4 man front only to literally never run it again after the first quarter?!  I’m at a loss.  It’s almost like we suspended the DC for a quarter.  He comes back and we go right back to the 3-3-5 and nearly blow the game.  
 

Story of the game was Rogers extending drives and getting the running game back on track.  Hope Blair isn’t seriously hurt.

Yeah, maybe once Coach Morris watches the film, he'll tell Caponi to stop with the 3 man D for the rest of the year.

I just want to say I'm so glad to be out of CUSA and their terrible officiating. PI in the endzone, offensive PI, roughing the passer which wasn't close, offside on the onside kick which didn't go 10 yards. They even picked the flag up on the last one. All of those plays extended their drives. Just pure incompetence.

Noting tonight makes me believe Caponi needs to continue as our DC.

Jared - When Morris makes the change, please, for the sake of the fans, work with him and make sure he brings in an experienced DC or even an FCS head coach with a defensive side-of-the-ball background. UNT can never allow a new HC who is an offensive guy to hire inexperienced DCs.

The 4-man front resulted in back-to-back 3 and outs and about 4 yards of LT offense in the 1st quarter, but Caponi thought it would be smart not only to move back to the 3-man front, but basically stick with it for most of the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th quarters.  That dude is too stupid to remain as our DC.

Exclusively on 3rd and 8 yards+ MAYBE.  And that is only to have guys familiar with it to install it NEXT YEAR and run scout team when we have an opponent who runs it.  Conversion of front types can be very ugly even on the pro level with a lot more practice time afforded to you.  Long time Dallas Cowboys fans should remember.

I get Earle made a great effort in practice, but Rogers is the starter. He looks to have great poise and a fluid throwing motion. Also I don't remember UNT having a duel threat style QB ever, it makes a nice wrinkle in the offense.
