Average high temperature on Sept 2 is 92 degrees.  Sept 2 is not in range of either of the long-range models yet, they go out to 384 hours (about 15 days).

FYI, one year ago it was 81 degrees at 3pm with a high of 85 a little before 6pm per wunderground.com.

(yes, I know, I took that one before the game started :))

Considering they were coming off an upset win over #14 Washington and on the verge of being ranked, this was one of the most disappointing crowds I've ever been a part of. Great example why they were left behind.

Guessing there will be a lot more tickets sold than butts in seats.  People just aren't going to go sit in the heat...unless we are very lucky and get a big change in the weather.  I'll be there no matter what.

I hope the administration gets creative with ways to beat the heat for the students.  I noticed they are allowing people to bring in empty bottles and they will have filling stations on both sides which is a great idea.  Firehose the crowd, roaming people with super soakers, etc.  Inform the students in advance and make it a water party in the stands.

I am making the ten hour round trip for the game knowing the weather.  I have lived in TX long enough to know to just be prepared.

What will affect the attendance..

1. Temperature at game time...3pm kick off is a killer

2. How re-alignment plays out for Cali and AAC.

20000+

So why is the game scheduled in the hottest part of the day? I would guess about our normal 20,000. I think that was about the attendance when we opened against Indiana a decade or so ago, which we won.

AAC TV slots with ESPN.   La Tech @ Smut is at 11am on ESPNU.  Our game is at 3pm on ESPNU.  S. Ala @ Tulane is at 7pm on ESPNU.

People complain about having South Alabama on our schedule... but apparently they're good enough for Tulane to schedule them too and take the primetime slot!

They had a good team last year. Fairly new coach and I think went to a bowl game. When you look at the 1AA programs we have on our future schedule its hard to complain about a good Sun Belt Team.
