Seating left for the SMU game

The first game in this series was played 92 years ago. I think it would be a good idea for the two athletic departments to enter into a joint venture, and produce a local commercial for this first game in our new 10 game series. play old game footage that progresses into newer game footage (equal highlights for both teams). Many casual sports fans that don't usually follow local college football, and disconnected alums, would probably show up for this game. Radio spots on the Ticket would probably be a good idea too. Just my opinion.

this...

both programs struggle to get consistently good crowds, this should be something promoted together, especially when you consider that TCU is on a bit of a backslide and the Mean Green and Ponies both went to bowls last year

Actually, SMU went 5-7 last year with blowout losses to Tech, the Aggies and TCU.

But I think joint promotion of the games is a great idea!

SMU didn't go bowling, but thanks for the +1.

Sadly, the move to 11:00AM has doomed this game to around a 23k turnout, at best.

Unless there is a miracle at the Royal. If that happens, a lack of marketing may not matter.

Yup. It's why we can't make it. 2:30 or even 6pm (ah, the Sunbelt days) and it's a likely sell-out. I do think we'll do better than 23k.

my bad guys... i thought since we were teaming up with them, we could pump up their stats a little... like they do with their attendance numbers

That would be asking the SMU AD to help pay for promoting a game at Apogee. I don't think they would be too receptive to that idea.

And I get it, we would do they same thing with the game next year, I just don't think SMU would be interested. Plus, I think SMU wants very little to do with an ad that will compare them equally with UNT.

Just sayin...
