Western Kentucky (1/2/20)

Seems as though we play WKU on the road 75% of the time.  Feels like they beat us 90% of the time no matter where we play.

Huge game to start league action.

If we win, it will be the first time in nearly 8 years: https://meangreensports.com/sports/mens-basketball/opponent-history/western-kentucky-university/51

Powerhouse program, though. Most have them as a top-25 program of all time. They recently got 5-star recruits two years in a row which is pretty incredible for a mid-major. Even short-handed, this would be a big momentum building win for us if we can pull it off.

This is as good a shot as we’ve had at them in a while. Even though we had them at home last year, we just weren’t good enough offensively to really have a shot. We’re playing well and are road tested, and probably have more depth than them at the moment. Without Bassey if we can just keep their shooters like Savage and Justice under control from deep, I really like our chances.

Reese likely gets Hollingsworth, as he usually gets the other teams’ top perimeter scorer. He has done great this year in that role.

Why is it that we never play WKU in Denton?  At least we get TV exposure.

NT 28 ------- WKU 17

7:46 to go

We had a great run going.  You know they're gonna make a run back - just gotta withstand it.  Looking very good so far.

NT 42 ------- WKU 32

Halftime

Considering our lack of success in Diddle historically, I'm thrilled to be up double figures at the break.

Action packed four minutes.  Lead ballooned up to 15, but the the Toppers fought back.

This is one of the worst second half meltdowns I have seen from this team--and I have seen a lot of them over the years.
