Tcu To Big East!

Trickle down is going to be interesting....

I really think UNT is going to be right in the middle of it.

Perception wise....I wonder if this makes the home opener vs Houston any bigger?

They're supposedly the favorite to replace TCU....if the MWC goes to 12 teams it could get interesting....

This is Big!

UNT must start getting our business in order.

The Coach Mac attack may work eventually in our going up the re-alignment ladder, its just the last 6 years that may haunt us with some but we are no worse than SMU was when they entered CUSA.; in fact, I think we are better off now than they were then. Coach JJ has basketball rising to an apparent new level and that will be a plus for North Texas.

Now that we have the new stadium, SMU should not be ahead of us anymore. I would put it pretty much even right now with UNT having significantly more upside.

UNT being mentioned on the board as possibility for MWest with SMU for Dallas Ft Worth Market..

I think this helps Hawaii get into the MWC much easier at this point. If the MWC decides to replenish their loss of TCU, I doubt they go to the WAC. CUSA is the next logical conference to look to. I would expect UNT to be at the bottom of most lists for promotion to the MWC (sad but true).

UNT to the MWC pretty please pretty pretty please!

Jones and the Mean Green with trips to the Pit, San Diego, Reno and the Thomas and Mack every year! That is some serious basketball company.

Bring Boise and Hawaii into DFW every other year and we will get some good name programs arriving into the Win Mill for their annual beat down.

Agreed on the CUSA being more of a fan favorite destination and better fit, but MWC is stronger even without the Utah schools and TCU.

I don't see Houston ever heading west except for the Pac 10. SMU probably doesn't want the MWC, but Jones will flex his muscles and try to get them there anyway (he likes the West). Tulsa has a solid hoops program to present to the MWC, we have the market and alumni base. CUSA will look at us only if SMU leaves. MWC may look at us sooner.

What about the Big 12:) We are not the threat that TCU is and we have good bball upside with football future. Send Texas Tech, BYU and UNT to the North and you have:

BYU

UNT

ISU

Missouri

Kansas State

Kansas

Texas

A&M

Baylor

Oklahoma

Oklahoma State

Texas Tech

This forces Texas to independance and in returns TCU or Houston down the fold.

Go BOLD Mean Green.

TCU is over 1000 miles away from every other football school in its conference.

I am sure the AQ money will offset their teams travel costs, but how often are fans going to see road games?

Well, their fans don't really travel much anyway, so...there's that.

Very interesting and DanMac being a former Big 12 Coach of the year should not hurt.
