Answer is no an we do not want to run down FAU, because that means FAU loses more games which would knock them  and Us out of the at large conversation. We need UNT and FAU to win out and meet in the finals otherwise CUSA will be a 1 bid conference

I dont think FAU is the best team heading into this tournament, I believe UAB is the top team.  so I would rather see UNT as the 2 seed, I think that makes the bracket a lot more favorable.

FAU is much more bearable than UAB. The answer is yes, come tournament time, not now.

UAB is the 3rd seed right now, they will be a tough out in SF, if we get by a tough #7 seed in La Tech

okay.  so celebrating it is weird to you.  But striving to sit on top of the standings is still a good goal.

I think we are the top team at this point, but also thought that last year and then the LA Tech debacle occurred in the conference tournament.  My current take is that us, FAU and UAB are a step above LA Tech, WKU, Rice and MTSU.

Obviously you've never been to most school's gyms.  Hell, UNC used to hang banners for regular season titles even when the ACC didn't recognize them.

I keep seeing this. Am I looking at it wrong? If UAB is the 3 seed (likely) won’t the 2 seed be lined up to play them in the semis? The 1 plays the 4?

what am I missing?

You are not wrong.  UAB could conceivably lose a couple and slide down to 4, but I think it's way more likely that they will remain at 3 and MTSU at 4.  It would be a very good thing for FAU to stumble and North Texas to win the regular season championship.  Not likely to happen--but that would be the best case scenario for these final few games.
