Does the Big XII expand this year? If so, which two schools join?

Playing a championship game with a 10 team conference would be ignorant.

This year not having a championship hurt them, but will it next year? Probably not often that the favored team wins every championship game as they did this year. If either Bama, FSU, Oregon, or OSU would have lost their conference championship game there wouldn't be a discussion of the Big 12 needing to add a game because Baylor or TCU would have been in the playoff.

Does anyone remember reading here that the Big 12 would invite Memphis and Louisville (or was it Cincinnati ?) ?

Healthy New Year everyone.

Louisville and Cincinnati. Recently, Memphis came into the picture. And to think old UNT use to be in the same conference with those three. If only we had the vision at UNT.......................

Before the advent of conference championship games, conferences had mechanisms in place to determine champions. That's all the Big XII needs. And a commissioner with backbone.

Given that WVU is the conference, I think they have to look east. BYU would be good but geographically, it doesn't make sense. They should have grabbed Louisville while they had the chance. Imagine the Big 12 in basketball had they grabbed them. I really think they should take a hard look at UCF. They have the largest student body in the country and average over 50,000/game in football. Cincinnati deserves a look but their football attendance is pretty meager (just under 32k/game last year). East Carolina to me makes better sense, at least for football. They are just as good if not better than Cincinnati but average close to 50k/game. If ECU came along, the Big 12 would have to make them change their helmets though. The pirate logo is very high schoolish. Louisville & Cincy would have tied in WVU geographically but that chance is long gone. To me, ECU and UCF are their best options.

Well, that would get us into the Big XII.

He was super butthurt that we left for CUSA. He did an interview during halftime of the UNT/MUTS game. He refused to say the name North Texas. Wouldn't acknowledge that we were in the game. Kept going on and on about how MUTS was going to be the flagship university of the new Sunbelt.

He is an asshat. Size extra large.

We're kind of like the super hot girl who wouldn't acknowledge him in high school, then we started dating his best friend. He swore off us, even deleted us from his Facebook friends, but make no mistake, he still dreams about us and browses our Facebook pics. If we were to call him up, he'd ask us out.

Likely there will be four 16 team conferences, and the Big 12 will not be one of them. UT, TTU, OU, OSU to the PAC. Other moves get nebulous, but there will be a few in the club left on the outside looking in. Then the conference champs go to the 4 team playoff. No damn committee needed.
