3. According to some of the players, and one unnamed coach, Vizza could

hear Riley's footsteps for the starting role and knows that Riley has the

backing of most of the players.

Totally contrary to all the other "insiders'" claims on this board.

Can we have a dedicated thread for this? Let's just watch those with inside-the-locker-room authenticity duke it out for supremacy regarding who the team is loyal to.

Who? I believe I posted his blog and got him active on the board again. I don't seek accolades. The smiles on all the children's faces is much more valuable to me.

Both of you shut it. Fans don't win titles - only teams do.

He will get his shot. I think Nathan may now reconsider his decision to leave, naw, I doubt it. The way Dodge treated Nathan in the fall was borderline criminal and a huge Slap in his face. Nathan will never play and he knows it. Dodge showed it by giving his son most of the reps behind Gio in November when he was supposedly hurt. The team is not behind that kid.

kid, you dont know what youre talking about. admins label you as a troll on your pink thread, i agree.

Here are a few thoughts on Vizza.

1. Vizza was one of the few, if not only, player who preferred to live off

campus. The players say he didn't hang with them but hung with kids

not on the team. This was not the "family" closeness that Dodge is

trying to build.

2. Vizza did not talk with Dodge originally. His father had a lot to do with

this decision because he feels his son is "big time" talent.

Vizza has been shopping around and talking to other programs,

behind the backs of the coaching staff and his teammates, to hedge

his options, before he announced he was quiting/transfering.

A couple of Big 12 programs and a several 1AA programs are

of high interest, or maybe which school has the best deal available.

how can big 12 coaches talk to him as a member of another program?

Take another look at mgsteve's posting of the San Antonio

sports story. Vizza's dad clearly states that Giovanni has been

in contact with 2 Big 12 schools, and 4 sub division schools.

Did these 6 schools contact Vizza first, or did Vizza contact

these schools to advise the 6 schools of his intentions

to transfer/quit North Texas ? I wonder how many more schools

Vizza has contacted or schools that have contacted him?

The story also states there will be a decision made this week,

Wed or Thur, on which school Vizza will transfer to.

Anyone want to guess who the lucky winner will be?

I agree H-town brother....he's a nice player..he's getting his college education payed for...I hope my son is so lucky. But the fact remains...watch enough football and you realize his arm had alot of limitations. Even on wide receiver screens the ball took wwwwwwwaaaaayyyyyy to long to get there...just not enough zip. Look, it's not like this is unusual. Miami is dealing w/ this, UT deal w/ this w/ Snead, Tenn dealt w/ this w/ Simms. He was an OK QB that was lucky to get a chance to play and get so much experience early in his career. Time to move on...neither party will die from all of this.

Yes. It is true. I was slumbering away in the wilderness of Denton. Belly full of fish fat after hoarding and now sleeping comfortably in my den.

Translation: I was busy with work and there was no UNT news other than 'we suck and how do we fix this mess' and 'i hope this new guy that they recruited won't quit and transfer after seeing what a mess this is now'.

But yes I was drawn back by the link to the blog which got a lot of hits from this board. So thanks to both of you. You win the NTMescan.blogspot.com Friend Of The Blog award for January 2009! Congrats! You win a Prize To Be Named Later.

At least that is what the NTMescan locker room insider says. Its true. You can ask anyone.

Interesting because the first words out any other teams coaches/recruiters mouth should have been "Where is your release?"

We had this with couple of players on the tennis, trying to go behind coaches back looking elsewhere. Hilarious to get a call from Tulane Coach, when we did not even know the player was looking.

Of course this would also mean the NCAA might actually have to do their job against a "True" BCS School.

Again, I ask this question:

Vizza was spotted on Rice's sideline during the Texas Bowl. Is this a recruiting violation by Rice? Anyone know?

Vizza can call anyone that he wants. Coaches, players, trainers, ADs what ever he wants to do and it would not be a recruiting violation. So if he called and aske his friend who plays on Rice for some passes all would be fair.

If someone called him and gave him the passes all would be lost....

So I would have to say that Vizza did the contacting and got the passes on his own or his family did the calling.

Life goes on. We need a stronger offensive and defensive line. Everything

will work out with a new QB IF he stays healthy.

accually he lives in the same dorm i do...so thats false

I don't really mind the hijacking, the jokes, or the arguing myself...but the amount of conflicting information going around is making heads spin.

The latter is what kinda irks me.

So if you're one of the ones with a friend-of-a-friend, or perhaps you have a direct relationship with someone inside: consider the notion that your own source is opinionated, maybe even manipulating you/the board and could eventually putting you in a position to eat your own words and pride.

Someone once said "Burning your sources 101". I think that's going around a lot lately.

Having said all that, I know this is an internet message board so it is almost quota/expected.

That's all. Carry on.
