Agree on all fronts. Traveled from Atlanta with the family. Never felt like we had enough of a lead. Outside of defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory was seeing Ja’mel Branch on the side lines. My kids kept asking why are the 49ers players cheering and jumping so much. To echo the others it felt flat or like a mid week business trip.

Awhile back in the dodge era i believe Tasty or someone posted a thesis on coaching new hires and their records in year 1 and years 1-3. Basically it outlined that successful hires usually outperformed the past coach in year 1 a large amount of time and by year 2-3 if it wasn't trending up, it never would. That is the reason for my extreme optimism with Seth and why I completely understand UT firing of Strong. Can someone find that post?

Seeing as we now reside in Houston we do not get to attend many Mean Green games. My son's 11th birthday is this week and he chose 4 to take friends to the Rice/NT game as his party. I reached out to the Athletic Department, specifically Wren Baker. He responded immediately. They really went above and beyond. A personal note from both him and coach as well as an autographed football! He opened it this morning and it trumped all other gifts he received.

I had the opposite experience in 2012 with DT's grandma. I can't remember the game, but it happened quite often, DT unable to get any touch on a deep pass. I made some disparaging comments without cussing and got an earful from his grandma. Specifically " if you think you are better why are you not out there?" Told her I'm paying to watch this garbage and if he can't take criticism he shouldn't be here. I enjoyed the bowl run in 2013 as much as anyone however I think 2013 has clouded how just average DT was. Which at this place we look upon as great.

Last time a running backs coach from TT was hired it worked out good.
