Agree!

Never dreamed we'd have 5 wins this season based on last year, but we do have an upwardly bound young coaching staff who cannot afford to allow UNT to be their last stop. It's a win-win for all.

BEAT THE  UTEP MINERS!

After seeing that Rice destroyed UTEP today, I feel we have a reasonable shot at winning in El Paso next week.

I don't care where the bowl is, I just know the practice time and the recruiting exposure will be great.  This next game is arguably more important than the Heart of Dallas Bowl win.  That was a senior stacked team with an established old coach and staff.  This is a young team with a new staff that need all the practice and film study time they can get.  I am 10 more anxious about the outcome of this game than the Heart of Dallas Bowl.  Great win tonight and I hope they throughly enjoy it.  Glad Seth is being consistent with discipline and got the win any way.  Great for the program.

      The purple-hairs and protestors are probably not hard core Mean Green sports fans. Is being a liberal arts school to blame? Part of the issue is management just letting the programs sell themselves. More investment in marketing to the public and Alums instead of students has always been needed here. I feel lack of fan support really goes deeper than the current makeup of the student body. Part of it is not ever having a Medical school, Law school, or Engineering school on the Denton campus. Grads of those majors earn huge salaries, much more than Education or Arts majors. Thus they are more likely to give back more to Athletics.

      Why the NCAA model is dying and will be replaced

      Times are changing with NIL and Portal. The players are being lured with $$. It may be time for hard contracts with buyouts to bind them to teams (schools), like NFL players. If a P5 wants them, then a buyout in the contract specifies what they owe the losing school. Same as with buying out a scheduled game. But there are more schools in FBS like us than not like us. It's a normal reaction to want to spend more funds on a successful sport, like basketball is right now at NT. At some schools basketball is terrible but the football is good, or baseball is good. ECU fans couldn't wait to be done with basketball because their baseball was ranked pre-season. But it's a chicken-egg thing. Why is our basketball now successful when it wasn't for many seasons with Benford and Trilli, even with good players? Better players, coaches? Yes to both. What is most important? Yes again to both. What needs to stay if one leaves. That would be the coach needs to stay. Coaching is the best investment a school can make....not money to players.
