who cares....big body, short.....perfect for nose tackle....cheap get as well.......we need rotations bodies on the D-line....

Well, if it's qualifying issues, you will.

Hell, we all will.

Would love to hear from @BillySee58 or our other recruiting experts as to why they think the offer sheet was so light for a 6A All-District player as a Junior.

Its not like this is a guy that was hidden away in the East Texas woods, after all.

I trust Ekeler!   Welcome to Junius.   This is a position of real need and this kid can play.  Also love that he will get to work alongside Bryce.

I don't think talent is any question, so trusting Ekeler really doesn't play in here. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm sure he'll be getting much more attention as we get closer to signing day.  Hopefully we'll hang onto him.

DT and QB are positions that get attention 3 years out. It's not like we beat anyone to the punch here.

Can't say I agree

EIDT: but that's a tangent.

Only FCS FCS offers (besides us) IS reason for concern but I choose to trust the staff.  Let's seee how he develops.

So you think a guy that plays on the same line as a TCU commit, that is a metroplex all-district player at a huge need position in college football somehow flew under the radar?

Ok...

Again, it's not his talent that concerns. Unless he is "too short" for FBS by teams standards, I don't see a reason for him not to have more offers.

Qualifying is what concerns me.

Between 2" - 4" short from being ideal height for P5. Probably a lot like Roderick Young (look out for him to blow up this year) in that IF he was taller, the offer sheet is too long to list.

Right, but why no other G5 offers? SMU, Houston, ULM, La Tech all recruit this area heavily, among others.

Listed at 6' 1" means he's probably closer to 5'10" or so. That hurts a lot of DTs in recruiting. I will trust the coaches on this one as they see something. BTW, being too short got us one of the best DT/NT in school history so there's that.
