I know I'm in the minority here...

But Hot Springs sucks... The only thing it has going for it is that it's kind of close to us... I'm open to moving the tournament...

Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong... I'll listen to arguments.

Other than not being a huge city, what is it missing and why does it suck?

Nothing to do, spent the last day checking out some of the terrible exhibits before the game... The city is spread out in a weird fashion... We didn't get there early enough to see the horse races... Some of the weirdest people I have ever met... Lastly, and most importantly, there is no local talent, as a single guy in his mid-twenties, I was going a little crazy there...

Are you not on board with the theory of "situational hotness"?

Don't worry we'll be in a different city for the conference tourny next season. Where does C-USA hold theirs???

I couldn't make it this year, but I usually have no problem finding things to do. If you like the outdoors, there are quality golf courses (I've played Isabella) along with some very scenic hiking and biking trails. If you prefer staying indoors, there's always the gaming area, the bars, or scenic drives.

The nightlife may not be at the top of the foodchain, but LR is under an hour away, and there's got to be some local talent there even if it is Arkansas. I usually try to bring my own talent anyway.

Besides, I'm selfish and any alternative site is likely to be further away. I do Mardi Gras most years, so moving it to New Orleans would be kind of redundant for me, since getting drunk and walking up and down the same street over and over again can get a little boring after awhile. Any alternatives other than Biloxi?

I like Hot Springs and its location is great for a lot of NT fans. However, after three years I have about had my fill of the city. I like the small town feel and it is easy to navigate but there is not a whole lot to do. Also the facilities and support from the town are not overwhelming. I should be ashamed but I don't want to hear high school bands and middle school choirs at a championship event.

It is an easy drive and the town does have charm and very well could be the best place from a NT perspective. As a relatively small town it does have its drawbacks but if I were choosing between the rumored Biloxi and Hot Springs; I would take Hot Springs in a blink.

Seemed like every other place in Hot Springs didn't take credit/debit card. The person at the

observation tour actually told me I couldn't use my debit card because the expiration date was after

2016 and that it is to "High Tech". Besides that Hot Springs is fun.

2nd, Hot Springs sucks... Probably one of the worst cities in the worst state, absolutely nothing to do. Besides of Belle Artese Ossobuco, the food also sucked. Biloxi would be pretty sweeet, I mean who doesnt love to gamble, drink, and watch basketball

Hot Springs was cool for a few years , but now it's time to move on. Not a lot of parking downtown and there is not smoking ban. So if you are like me and get sick with smoke fumes it's not exactly ideal. I don't mind people who smoke at all , several friends that do. I just don't like walking down the street trying to go shopping with my 3 yr old in tote and every few steps someone is blowing smoke our way. After 3 trips you just run out of things to do in a small down.

Also a big F U to Rod and his pizza place !

I love the short drive and I love the fact our students can make it. It will suck to have to fly somewhere , because I know that will probably kill off more than half of our fans that make the drive to HS.

1 more year is fine , but then it's on to bigger and better things.

It was our first time at Hot Springs and I felt like it was Mayberry RFD with all the amenities – I played pool with some Arkansas State Fans and won enough to cover about half my expenses – went to the races the next day an lost a little and the next day went to the casino and won a little – can’t complain.

Thought the hotels were good and the downtown restaurants were very good. Got to meet a lot of new Mean Green Fans – it was fun talking to all the fans from the other teams.

It was nice that the athletic department paid for bussing in some of our students for each of our games – had a good time talking to many of them.

When we change conferences - flying into another state and walking in the rough part of town –---- well it will not be Mayberry.

We are looking forward to going back to Mayberry next year.

The Alliance needs to keep the tournament in Las Vegas. The Pac 12 is talking to MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA about moving the Pac 12 tournament from LA to Vegas beginning next year. That will mean the following conferences will converge on Sin City next March: West Coast Conference including a ton of BYU, Gonzaga and St. Mary's fans, WAC including many Hawaii and Utah State fans, MWC including the home town Rebels and a ton of fans from SDSU and New Mexico, and the Pac 12 including a ton of Arizona fans, Cali fans...Over 40 teams will be in the city for the first two weekends in March 2013 - talk about an epic basketball environment. All tournament games happen at the Thomas & Mack, The Orleans Arena, Cox Pavillion (MWC Women's) and now MGM. What a great site that will be able to be a part of.

I've got my ticket for section four Air Force vs New Mexico and Wyoming vs UNLV tomorrow night!

Hot Springs ain't bad, and unless we want to lose half of our traveling fanbase, proximity should be the important thing as far as we're concerned. Are we really concerned about other team's fans? I mean really? The closer to us the better. Anything much more distant than Hot Springs really takes the day trip advantage away from us, and there's not many more attractive options closer to home. Unless of course the powers that be decide to move the tourney to North Texas for the next couple of years. OK by me.

I don't even think this guy was a philosophy major. As I recall, when not making excuses for bedding the occasional ugly coed, he was majoring in Hotel/Restaurant Something Or Other Degree Plan.
