Orlando Sentinel 2012 FBS Countdown

Recommended Posts

The Orlando Sentinel has ranked all 120 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the country. The Sentinel staff will take a closer look at a new team daily, counting backward from No. 120 to our projected No. 1 team. We will not be including the four teams the NCAA lists as still reclassifying to the Football Bowl Subdivision level.

today they posted #84 - Washington State. UNT, FIU, ArkSt and WKY have not appeared on the countdown listed yet.

If you click on an earlier entry, you'll see Kansas is at #95.

Your are correct....the listing below from CoogFans.com

And darn, is UL-Monroe going to be that salty this year in the 'Belt? Amazing what they are doing

with their shoe-string budget. Admirable, in fact.

I know being top 80 is nothing to be proud of, but I wonder what they see in us to have us ranked so highly after a 5-7 season. I see an improvement in the team, I just don't think it will be substantial.

Considering where we've been the last few years, a ranking in the 70s is a proud achievement. I'm more hopeful because of the coaching, fitness and attitude. The talent level will improve but Dodge recruited decently; he just couldn't make it work for him.

This is why I worry we have simply been forgotten in these rankings.

No way are we in the bottom 10. I just don't see how we are in the 70s.

Hope it's true, but top 80 would be amazing with all the defensive question marks as well as relatively unproven WR's and RB's. If the WR's and RBs come through, I expect us to be a pretty damn good offensive team, but the defensive side of the ball is still one big question mark for me.
