  1. Honestly who cares anymore? This realignment stuff has gotten so stupid.

  4. I want us to beat FAU for NIT security in case we don’t win the conference tournament.

  5. White stripe is strictly for film purposes. Coaches have a much better idea where the players eyes are when that giant white stripe is pointed towards where they SHOULD be looking or where they SHOULDN'T be looking. Takes the players ability to lie about where they were looking away. Eye in the sky don't lie.

  6. If you read Jim Williams's post, it's ALL speculative. Those are HIS ideas, not something currently in progress. FSU still has not found a way out of the grant of rights. Louisville is certainly questionable for the B1G - they wouldn't take OSU or WSU so I'm not sure why they'd take Louisville. This COULD happen in a few years, but certainly no reason to panic like it's going to happen for 2025!

  7. FAU's Dusty May on playing the Mean Green in Denton Wednesday night: "they're healthy now. They've played extremely well with a full roster. They beat Memphis at home. And then they bring in Rubin Jones and CJ Nolan back from injury and they sputtered the first game or two. I think sometimes you bring a guy back from injury and you just expect him to work back in seamlessly. In reality, roles change, rotations change, it's not quite that simple. And as we know it, every game is hard to win and is a challenge to win. So they played as well offensively as they have all season yesterday vs East Carolina at home, so they're clicking with a full roster and we're very well aware of how difficult it's going to be to win and in The Pit."

  8. Congrats to long time UNT supporter and fan Rick McKinney (BBA '90) on his retirement after 30-years of public service with the Fort Worth fire department. Thank you Rick for your many contributions UNT athletics and the community. Go Mean Green!

  13. I agree. Any growth at a non-power conference school with today's plethora of entertainment options and generation of students who don't care as much about sports is good.

  14. One could just as easily blame alumni or Denton area residents given there are hundreds of thousands. The reality is it's growth. We just need to to continue! We average 4100+ this year...shoot for 4500+ next year, etc..

  21. Try Tri Champions, you would have to put Temple in there as well…all three teams with five loses/13 wins. Just win the tournament, champion stands alone and only team to get an invite to the NCAA tournament!

  25. Thank y’all for the kind words. You know I’ve always felt like one of the most blessed people on earth for being able to share life with three different families. My family at home, my fire family at work and my Mean Green family. Emergency workers need their families to de stress and take their thoughts of the shift somewhere else, and this family, my Mean Green family has certainly done that for me. Whether we are fighting over our opinions on subjects of the moment, or loving each other in celebrating Mean Green successes…it’s all been a family to me and helped me focus on happier times. My last shift yesterday was an overwhelming day of emotion, reflection and joy seeing family and friends and coworkers one last time at the station. I greatly appreciate hearing from so many of you, and was especially proud seeing @SilverEagle repping the Mean Green at my station, as well as his Mean Green alumn son Jeff, or as he’s known now on the FWFD, Chief Covert. I hope to make more games now, hopefully more road games, though my wife’s Honey-Do list has now grown longer than a @PlummMeanGreen post on national “Stadium Day”. So I’ll see how it goes. So till the next tailgate,….It’s All Good And All Green. Rick

  27. I've grown tired of "realignment" talk. It's the most overblown game of musical chairs ever. The rich and power hungry football schools just continue to consolidate and all of us peasants keep trying to kill each other for the chance to join them....but there are no new seats added. Just removed.

  28. its only a matter of time before fans tire of Rutgers- Cal , SMU- Florida State, Oklahoma- Vanderbilt , or some other random pairing every other year and yearn for the regional world of the past.

  29. I agree. What's the big deal about Louisville? Yes, they have had some good teams. And good crowds and support. They just don't move the needle for me. For me, they are still Missouri Valley Conference.

  31. This is just silly. They assume that, if FSU, UNC, Louisville, and Clemson leave, there will be ANY reason for a network to renegotiate (or honor) a contract without the four biggest brands left in what is already the weakest "power" conference. I could much more easily see the Big 10, SEC, and Big XII eating up every brand that's worth a damn (because they'd jump at any life raft at that point) and leaving the rest on their own.

  32. I think it’ll be good for him. Phil Bennett had expressed some concern with Brown being so heavy last season. PB said Browns really quick and the weight slows him down.

  33. Those 3 schools combined will not generate the revenue that FSU or Clemson bring on their own. And if those top schools leave for the Big 10 or SEC, then would the ACC still be a "power conference" worthy of 2 playoff spots?

  37. Fun Fact about Jordan McCloud. His brother Ray-Ray McCloud has been in the NFL since 2018 but they're only 3 years apart. This grown man (Jordan) will be 25 in November and has been in college since 2018, the same year his brother was drafted. Hopefully one day college sports will mostly be played by college-aged kids again. Seven years in college is too damn much. Edit to add: since 2018, his brother Ray-Ray has played for 4 different NFL teams (Bills, Panthers, Steelers, 49ers). With Jordan going to Texas State, he will now be on his 4th different FBS team since 2018 (South Florida, Arizona, James Madison, Texas State).

  38. He was here two years, his Jr. and Sr. seasons. He only has an extra year because of Covid. His career is like having a player sit on the bench his freshman and sophomore campaigns and then being great his last two years. It's not like that's never happened before.

  42. Just par for the course on the football side. Come on over to basketball! Much more exciting team and play. Team and coaches that just get it done. Right now a little injured, but just about to get exciting with injuries clearing up.
