Vikes must have liked what they've seen the last two weeks....as Kemon was signed to a Reserve/Future contract....along with several others.8 points

I don’t have any info, but regardless of what he chooses, I wish him nothing but the best. He’s a beast! Hoping he gives the Mean Green one more year!4 points

Sources close to GMG.com have confirmed a name to watch out for is OU DL coach Calvin Thibodeaux. Not saying a signing is imminent. But there is mutual interest. It all depends if Grinch wants to bring in his own DL coach. Calvin is very familiar with both Seth and New DC Clint Bowen. He worked under Clint for a season while they both were at Kansas. Just something to watch.3 points

Looks like Bartis has some D2 & D3 offers but there's nothing out there on Hayes. I don't get it either. Some kids are just "football players" that don't meet the measureables.3 points

Sports Day & AP’s All Area & All State list https://www.dallasnews.com/high-school-sports/football/2020/01/09/sportsdayhs-2019-all-area-football-teams-see-full-first-and-second-teams-for-defense-offense/ https://www.dallasnews.com/high-school-sports/football/2019/12/17/melissas-caden-hayes-leads-way-with-2019-texas-associated-press-sports-editors-class-4a-all-state-football-team/ Besides Guyer’s Cobbs and Duncanville’s Trysten Smith’s (averaged 9 Yards a carry at the biggest division) limited offers there’s two more guys in the 4A State list with no offers (That I can find, so bare with me). LB Caden Hayes.....Melissa.....6', 210........AP 4A State Def Player of the year; 195 tackles; 39 TFLs; 12 sacks; 5 forced fumbles 2nd team OL......Sam Bartis Sunnyvale....6'1", 285 5-4 Div. II MVP; 3 year starter; 90% blocking grade in every game; 63 pancakes. Maybe Hayes is slow, I don’t know. But you can’t be too slow with 195 tackles and he’s the #1 defensive player in the state at the 4A level. And I know it’s happened before (Aledo’s monster O lineman Hicks in 2006) for an O lineman to be voted his district’s MVP but it’s pretty damn rare. But despite being undersized Sunnyvale’s Sam Bartis earned that honor on a team that’s gone 21-2 the past two years. At 6’1 285 pounds he’s got something special, and he may still grow. He’s already Center size. This kid could be the next Andy Brewster? You would think if nothing else he’s worthy of a PWO? Two more diamonds in the rough no one else seems to want...just like the New York Giants’ Josiah Tauefa from Lake Dallas. I just don’t get recruiting and I probably never will? Rick2 points

You go down the line and you see guys producing and we’re just getting better. When they hit shots it really opened up [the court] for me.”2 points

We already had Renfro "committed" at the time. Why go recruit another guy?2 points

shorter on one side and him on the other with a Dardin in the slot, if we have a half way decent qb they will be a dangerous group.2 points

https://www.hudl.com/profile/4603510/Caden-Hayes I see why he wasn’t offered. Undersized and not explosive. I was impressed by his tackling ability though. https://www.hudl.com/profile/6256683/Samuel-Bartis We already signed our center Dane Jackson. However, I was impressed with his tape. He destroyed some of the DL he faced. It wouldn’t hurt to offer him a PWO. I see he has a few D2 and D3 offers though.1 point

Geu is 2 of 21 from behind the arc so I'd prefer he pass off the ball to a better 3-point shooter. If anything, I'd rather he take a mid-range shot since he is getting more and more attention around the rim.1 point

I’ve been traveling but watching this team grow from a distance. After the UTA game which was the one I got to see I felt we were trending in the right direction. Now I feel like our stout non conference slate has prepared us well. Nothing would be finer than to see a sea of Green in Frisco as we make a deep run for The crown. Keep it rolling MG! GMG1 point

I think you called it. Hayes is showing a 4.8 40 and at his size that probably doesn't cut it at the D1 level. Hopefully, with 195 tackles, he'll end up with a good program if that's what he wants.1 point

It was Ryan's FT shooting that drove us nuts. Ryan is still .553 (26-47) at the FTL this year (his 2-7 against UTA kind of skewed the numbers) with Hamlet shooting FTs at a .857 clip (48-56).1 point

I have a very similar situation with a family of five. Then, when I hear reports of about 2000 people at the game, I get even more frustrated. What’s the harm in having a family of five get in for $50 or less when the place isn’t 20% full?1 point

The FIU and FAU games may just be the best back to back games I have seen the Mean Green play in some time. The focus and intensity was evident from the start of both games. The way the team is playing defense, and if they can keep it up, could make UNT a contender for the conference crown. And, just as a side note...very proud and pleased at the was Rose Smart is playing off the bench. Was not sure if he could be a "bench player", but he seems to have accepted that role and , as a senior, has decided to do whatever it takes to help the team win. I have seen him "pass" on shot opportunities that last season and before he would have just jacked up...not this season. If he has an open shot...he will take it, but if not, he is looking to pass to an open man. Big change and really excited to watch him play...adding Gau was really a big addition for the team. His presence helps Zach a great deal and, interestingly enough, Gau can shoot from three range as well as under the basket...not that I want to see him taking a lot of three's mind you. Anyway, great two game home stand for the Mean Green. Fun to watch.1 point

I knew you would be first up! Thank you Sir. I do believe you have participated all ten years!1 point

Simpson, Wood, and Gaddie all impressed. Addaway very much with a small sample size. I suppose Simpson gets the nod since he made the most contributions of the bunch.1 point

11am is early drinking! But seriously, obviously I can’t attend but I will donate and I might have something to donate.1 point

He might have the best ceiling, but I went with Simpson based on on field contributions. He did well when pressed into duty after the Bussey injury.1 point

No but if you are the 10th offer after multiple p5 you def don't have a chance.1 point

It definitely suits me, as does the substantial pay raise I’d need to afford it1 point

Many of you know that I was born and raised in Denton before attending North Texas. My in-laws now live in Robson Ranch and all of my family is still in Denton County. Well, after 15 years of policing at Dallas PD, and the last two as Chief of the city of Keene, I am returning to my roots. I will be sworn in as the Chief of Police in Argyle on January 2.1 point

I've gotten tired head reading all of these coaching change posts, etc. Regardless of who coaches the Mean Green in 2020, I want to hear more discussions on our next starting QB. I'm thinking Austin Aune might be the guy who leads the offense this year. Still need some evaluation during the Spring, but I'm high on Aune. Think of the success UAB had with the older players(I know, more than just one) when they reinstated the football program. What better position than a solid, good size, older QB? And his high school numbers are nothing to sneeze at.1 point

At this point I just don’t know what to say. He’s not going to Wazoo and it’s obvious his agent is keeping his name in the media. Just stop this doesn’t help North Texas at all. Apparently winning here is like moving mountains.1 point

Well, if Seth does leave, I am all for Ricky Gervais taking over. Press conferences and the coaches show would be epic.1 point

Now that I think about it, I've got some Shrine Bowl questions... Who pays for the players travel, room and meals ? How long is the player at the Shrine Bowl event ? Does the University provide the player with all his equipment or just the helmet ? Does the University send any support staff with the player ? Does the player get paid ?1 point
