Matt........I think sometimes...these gals are going to graduate in May....and leave to go on to their next lives. (even if they have more eligibility) After all, in softball.....most don't even get a full ride. So staying around for another year.....would cost them $.

Hate to see 'em go. Also....two gals that are listed as juniors, Tatum Sparks and Riley McNemar, are listed by Mean Green Softball (on X) as being seniors who will be honored on Sunday. Two more big losses.

From reading multiple forecasts.....it's hard for me to gauge the Fri-Sat weather. I guess they have a better grasp of it. The good news: I think the Fri-Sat rain is supposed to be lighter.....as opposed to today's deluge. Will be there.....hopefully for all three. Go Mean Green!!!!

Favorite Coach Blakely moment (of many): We were playing UTA at the Super Pit...and beating them by like 30. UTA fouls one of our players, to send him to the free throw line (with like 10 seconds left). The UTA coach calls a timeout. Why??? That hacked off Coach Blakely. So when play resumed, as the guys are going to the free throw line....he calls a timeout. That timeout is over, the guys go back to the line....he calls another timeout. That timeout ends, the guys go back to the line....he calls another timeout. By the second and third timeouts, our guys were laughing as they went back to the line. A great coach....and by far, our funniest one.

Great 7-3 win. Skylar goes the distance. Our team has now had 18 comeback wins......2nd most in Div. 1 softball (behind Auburn) 33-14.......15-6 in league play. Three home games next weekend against USF. If you ever go to a game....meeting the parents of the players....is an added bonus.

Great win....glad I was there. Team is so fun to watch. Let's get the sweep!

The other thing I might add.....when it comes to tourney time.....our gals now ought to know they can beat anybody. I hope and pray....we finish strong....and go into the tourney with momentum. The tourney is in Tampa......IIRC. Go Mean Green! p.s. Thank God, the tourney's not in Boca, and I don't have to endure "The FAU Sound Machine."

Can't believe that none of their own fans (many who are senior citizens) don't complain about that racket.

Miss Anneca kept us in this game for a while....but had no run support. Some great plays in the field by Kailyn and Cierra. Had some near misses. Maddie came close to homering. Ausha Moore send numerous long blasts....that were just foul. Likely gonna lose today....but we showed we can play and beat these FAU gals. Go Mean Green!

I didn't take it that you were disagreeing with me. Not at all. And I guess the only ruling that could be had on that play....is error. (for the overthrow). Love these kids. And not trying to make an excuse....but I have a theory on why they didn't seem into the Tarleton game. I think (may be wrong)....they let the girls go to Boca on Wednesday. Soak up a little of the Sunshine State. Maybe even they got to go to the beach. Dunno. It's a long season....you're gonna have ups and downs. If (and not sure we did)....we let these gals....have a little fun in Florida....I'm all for it. BTW....doubt they get one cent of NIL money. And not all of them are on full scholarship. FAU wasn't ranked in the top 25.....but they were the second team in Others Receiving Votes. So essentially......they were the 27th ranked team in the country. If you haven't seen these girls play in person.........I think we have homestands the next two weeks. We play UAB.....Thursday (6)....Friday (6) and Saturday (2). The league doesn't have teams play on Easter....which I love. If you're a red blooded American male....wanna another reason to see them play? They're dang cute.

As I explained earlier....I think that was a tough error. The runner at second....right in Tatum's line of view. I'm sure it was called an error....and maybe it was. But that was a tough play with that obstructed view.

Run rule win............Mean Green 9 FAU 1 Skylar pitches great.....great....great. Gets the win. Pretty sure the run will be unearned. An error on Tatum Sparks. But man....that was a tough play. Runner on second.......a grounder to Tatum at short....the runner at second really blocked her view......she got the ball...bobbled it and hurried a throw to first. That is a tough error....if she got one. And if you think these girls are delicate little flowers....today both catchers got hit by fouled off pitches. And both their catcher and our great "Moff" shook off the injury....in mere seconds. Members of the Texas Rangers would have been on the IL for a month.
