Bored at work today so I put together a couple of helmet ideas I think would look really good. Thoughts?

Love them. Wanted the eagle on the helmet like this since I came here. I think a matte green helmet with white eagle wings would be cool too.

Now we just need 90 to come question our manliness and it's a uniform thread!

I like them. But I'm starting to sway on this look. When Oregon unveiled them I loved them, now I just think they are Oregon knockoffs....but really badass knockoffs.

While I agree partially, I think the uniqueness of the logos plays in our favor. If we don't do this, we need the huge eagle that wraps around the helmet like the bowl ones. I enjoyed the Rice game helmets solely for the Eagle but was not in that much love with them, frankly.

I struggled mightily to see the bowl helmets. Color blindness is a beyotch. I had to ask the guy next to me what they were. I saw a green helmet with a silver eagle. Even when I downloaded closeup pictures, that's what a saw unless I squinted real hard. Dark on dark, lack on contrast, and chrome reflection all screw with my vision.

I could see us using a matte black helmet and black pants with a more modern green jersey for our home games. Road would be black helmet, white jersey, and green pants. Or do we splurge and get matte green helmets to go with the green pants for the road?

Always wanted just a symbol on our helmet instead of letters and words. You leave it on your helmet long enough, have several winning seasons in a row plus a few bowl game wins AND Top 25 and even some college football fans in Rhode Island would know who the North Texas Mean Green are.

I like the helmet with the green Son of Worm best albeit a white SOW would show up better for the TV cameras.

Maybe a white SOW with apple green trim?

well done cdizzle86....

I like those matte helmets. Most everyone knows that I am not a fan of our mechanical diving eagle...but your helmets are "way cool" and that's by far the best sow alternate to date...digging the grey on matte black. Your scaling and layout are very well done.

...give us this as an alternate to....the spelled North Texas, a black sow on a toothpaste green helmet with white facemask or an "aqua" sow on black helmet.

The "Oregon" oversized bird wing on helmet has really been a little overdone. IMO I thought that Rice's bowl wing helmet was trying too hard and not all that great....BUT these are really way cool...

I envision the "classic & collegiate" interlocked NT as our everyday home & away helmet...it's timeless...and...then these "kickass" helmets for our "Special Big Game" uniforms. This 2 helmet combination would be the perfect 1-2 punch for our AD, team and fans. This combo could very well please a lot of different folks. Love it!!

thanks for sharing your vision!

Helmet stickers anyone?

With the advent of Eugene Levy eagle the helmet stickers should be eyebrows.

And I don't mean have a lot of little eyebrows all over the helmet, just that the more plays you make the larger that one pair of eyebrow stickers gets.

One great ST play = Thin Greta Garbo eyebrows.

14 sack season = Full on Eugene Levy.

The stickers should also actually be furry, we could be the trendsetters instead of Oregon!
