Anyone going tonight? Email from North Texas said it was at the "band shell" right around the Cotton Bowl.

So, I just called the parking number for Fair Park and was told that parking for this evening is $15. I made him repeat that and clarify that he was not talking about tomorrow for the game, and he confirmed. That seriously can't be right, can it? I have parked for less than that (or free) for events at Fair Park Music Hall.

Good grief. The email from NT said the event was free...didn't mention any cost for parking.

It was $15 to park last Saturday evening (Chinese Lantern Festival). I believe that's the standard rate. I parked for $10 across the street by the McDonald's and gas station, outside the Gate 5 entrance. Easy in and out.

There's always the DART green line.

I just was told from a friend of mine that is in the Dallas Wind Symphony (HQ at the Band Shell) that he thought parking was typically $5-10 for events there, so he wasn't surprised that it would be $15 for this.

We're taking the Green Line - leaves Trinity Mills at 3:49 and arrives Fair Park 4:39. $5 each - can't beat it. Can't wait to move to North Texas where there is real mass transit system!

Go buy him some Emergen-C from CVS make him chug 2 per 1 water bottle twice today. Once immediately and once when he goes to sleep. Again when he wakes up tomorrow am and he'll be ready to go. No I am not a Dr., but Yes I do think I know almost as much as them.

Alright, PRO TIP:

I came in from the East side of the Cotton Bowl itself. Gates are open and never saw a parking person until I parked and saw others having to pay by the band stands.

So I retract what I said earlier BUT there is a work around.

Some observations:

Our cheerleaders/dancers are waaaayyyy hotter (honestly surprising).

The Green Brigade is probably 5x bigger than UNLV's, though the latter do have some fun tunes and routines.

Pres. Smatresk is still definitely all UNLV this week.

When it comes to great college bands, size is not as important as showmanship.

I'll take the under 200 member band that "Letsgiveacheer" was the director of over this current group any day.
