Thank y’all for the kind words. You know I’ve always felt like one of the most blessed people on earth for being able to share life with three different families. My family at home, my fire family at work and my Mean Green family. Emergency workers need their families to de stress and take their thoughts of the shift somewhere else, and this family, my Mean Green family has certainly done that for me. Whether we are fighting over our opinions on subjects of the moment, or loving each other in celebrating Mean Green successes…it’s all been a family to me and helped me focus on happier times. My last shift yesterday was an overwhelming day of emotion, reflection and joy seeing family and friends and coworkers one last time at the station. I greatly appreciate hearing from so many of you, and was especially proud seeing @SilverEagle repping the Mean Green at my station, as well as his Mean Green alumn son Jeff, or as he’s known now on the FWFD, Chief Covert. I hope to make more games now, hopefully more road games, though my wife’s Honey-Do list has now grown longer than a @PlummMeanGreen post on national “Stadium Day”. So I’ll see how it goes. So till the next tailgate,….It’s All Good And All Green. Rick8 points

Just my personal feelings here, but I think that a player who finishes his career at NT could still be a strong contender for HOF if he puts in two HOF-worthy seasons here. Maybe someone who make ridiculous contributions here then transfers elsewhere could be considered; but that would have to be a major strike against him, to say the least.5 points

Scott plays much better offensively when Rubin is available. Hope they can stay in a groove into the AAC Tournament.5 points

I’ll have none of that nonsense!!! Chandler Morris was 100% never truly committed to North Texas (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and was 100% headed to Texas State as a way to secure his father’s commitment as a coach (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and he 100% only stayed committed to North Texas when Texas State got the guy they wanted all along who had been available in the portal for three months (though there’s zero evidence to back this up).4 points

At one of our games a few years ago, a guy was wearing a Portland State hat just a few rows up from me. I asked him (tongue in cheek), “Hey, man. Do you have to wear that thing here?” Apparently he was on the team that beat us, moved to DFW, and now likes to attend our games. He was cool about it all. Still don’t like seeing Portland State anything, though. That game sucked.4 points

There will be a lot of fans, I have no doubt about that. It's an important game. And I think there's every chance to win it. Hello, everyone!4 points

Another perspective: my season tickets are front row on the baseline, and the closest they could get the three extra tickets I requested was Row K.3 points

You are in complete an utter denial. ESPN nor any other distributer is really interested in GOR other than a means to control cost on the rights to air game featuring brands that bring fans. That isn't SMU or the lesser brands in any of the conferences. All the schools thar were the last to get into a P4 lifeboat are in danger of being excluded when the big divide inevitably happens. And it is inevitable unless a major ruling in pending court cases make an elite semi-pro CFB league unpalatable to media distributers and the big brands they want.3 points

For clarification. He is a Battalion Chief (Battalion 1, A-shift). Since there are many of them, that makes him A Chief.....not THE Chief. So proud of you Rick. You are the perfect model of a true fan. My hope is that more and more people will be inspired to emulate you.3 points

Thanks for your service to FT. Worth as well as your passionate and long time support on North Texas athletics.I first met you at the 1st New Orleans Bowl over 20 years ago. Trust me , at age 81 the next 20 years of your live will fly by[like an eagle?]. Mine, not so much. Take care,Ward White.3 points

Man, so good to have Rubin back bringing the ball up. I don't know how many times I watched him read the defense and back away from a trap instead of dribbling into a bad situation. Thankful we have his experience, leadership and defense on the court. Takes a lot of pressure off of others. Aaron? Best game of the year.3 points

With the NIL going on any great player will not be here for four years anymore. Just what college sports has become. The big boys are now of the mind set why develop when we can just buy players that have proven themselves. Just a question does one or two season make HOF player?2 points

Kernal the 5th year senior from Commerce that Burton brought over was the best player again on the court with 22 pts! Too bad we don’t have her for another year! Definitely be there for the tournament to support our team. Looks like if everything plays out in the last reg season game the way it should, we would have the #2 seed for the tournament with Tulsa getting the #1 seed because they have the head to head over us! Tempe would be the #3 seed. Go Mean Green!2 points

Wyoming had been on the OOC schedule for years before Jared became the AD. The only decision he could have made now is to pay whatever the breakup fee is for not playing the games.2 points

Sometimes it's the season outcome that sways the HOF voting. The NCAA win over Purdue and winning the NIT were both generational events for NT Athletics.2 points

There was a reason McCloud was still availible in almost March when he jumped in the portal in December. Confernce POY QB don't just hang around.2 points

Generally White closed games because he was such a good free throw shooter we wanted him to have the ball in case he got fouled. Thompson also closed games though, just not as often.2 points

Nice, thanks! Couldn't find a more detailed realignment layout like this.2 points

We haven’t even had spring ball yet. Let’s give it a full offseason and at least a complete game before rallying the “Fire Caponi” crowd.2 points

I guess we are TOO good to play a Wyoming team that went 9-4 last season who beat Texas Tech and also won their bowl game...2 points

What Wyoming brings is a respectable G5 team that has been to four bowls the past five years and won three of them. Gimme more home and homes like this.2 points

Nobody is giving a guy who ip and ran away any love for the HOF! 4 year player or amazing JUCO transfer and that’s it. Really needs to be 4 year player for any sport.1 point

Congratulations. That is a long time to be working in such a dangerous field. I hope you enjoy your twilight years as you have earned it.1 point

Because quite a few schools have bad losses, or a lot of wins over marginal opponents. So if schools with bad losses win over the schools high in the rankings, it kills the numbers of those schools. It's not just in the AAC either.1 point

If true, good for him. He isn't the only person with ties to south Dallas, did he really create a "pipeline" and was he a great TE Coach? I liked the hire when he came on board, but I don't think he is irreplaceable.1 point
