DENTON, Texas – Conference USA announced today that three more North Texas football games will be televised for the upcoming season bringing, the total of TV games to eight for the 2013 season. Additionally five more game times for the 2013 season have been released.

North Texas has games scheduled to be shown on Fox Sports, Fox Sports 1, Fox College Sports, CBS Sports, CSS and Time Warner Texas this season.

The October 5 game at Tulane will be shown on Fox College Sports at 2:30 p.m. North Texas at Southern Miss on October 26 will also be shown on Fox College Sports at 6 p.m., and the November 23 game at home against UTSA will be shown on the Time Warner Texas channel at 2:30 p.m.

Fox Sports has announced that the North Texas game with Ball State will be shown Fox Sports Net and game time is at 3:00 p.m. The Halloween showdown with Rice will be seen on Fox Sports 1 and kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m.

Homecoming for the Mean Green is on November 9 against UTEP and will be shown on CSS and Time Warner Texas starting at 2:30 p.m.

FOX Sports 1 is FOX’s new nations sports cable network launching this August and will carry a minimum of 10 regular-season C-USA football games.

North Texas begins its first season in C-USA in 2013 and opens the regular season at home on August 31 against Idaho.

Someone tell me again how CUSA is just Sun Belt 2.0

It is. Just better TV, more money, better bowls, more regional opponents, greater press coverage, higher public perception, ...

Other than that and a few more things, it's the same. It's still not the SEC so it must be terrible and we must demand to change conferences.

FOX College Sports has announced that it will televise 10 Conference USA football games this fall. The FCS
schedule includes seven league games and will involve 12 current C-USA schools, as well as two future league members.
The schedule will begin on the first Saturday of the season, August 31, when future member Old Dominion makes the short trip to
Greenville, N.C. to face East Carolina at 7 p.m. EDT. The following Saturday,September 7, UTEP hosts New Mexico at 6 p.m. MDT.
The first conference game on the docket will take place Saturday, September 21, when UTSA plays its first league game as a memb
erof C-USA, playing in the Sun Bowl against UTEP at 6 p.m. MDT.

On November 16, future member Charlotte will make its first national television appear
ance when it visits Old Dominion, a school that has extended its streak of consecutive home sellouts to 35 with
all season tickets sold in advance to this season. This matchup will kickoff at Noon EDT in Norfolk, Va.
The final game on the schedule is a C-USA contest between Tulane and Rice on the final Saturday of the regular season. Kickoff
at Rice Stadium is set for 2p.m. CDT on November 30.
FOX College Sports (FCS) offers three nationally distributed college sports networks – FCS Pacific, FCS Central and FCS Atlantic.
The three networks combine to telecast more than 1,100 live NCAA events annually. FCS is seen by viewers in the nation’s 25 largest
cities, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, San Francisco,Dallas and Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Minneapolis and Tampa.
Key distribution partners include Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision Systems,
Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse, Mediacom Communications, and Cable One. FCS is also available on satellite through DirecTV.
The addition of the seven games on FOX College Sports give C-USA more than 80 football games guaranteed to be televised this fall.
Additional Conference USA football television exposures remain a possibility and games will be released as soon as they are finalized.

With all the realignment that has happened in the past couple of years, I think North Texas and the schools that have moved to CUSA are going to benefit the most. The reason why the schools in the Sun Belt were not known was simply because of exposure, and now we have that. If the CUSA can pull off a couple of big upsets this year, then I think we will quickly gain the respect and can position ourselves as an equal to the MWC and AAC. The perception gap is narrowing.

More importantly, I hope the players and coaches are working harder than ever to start the inaugural CUSA season with a bang and make their mark on North Texas' history. The stage is set, how will we perform?

Similar to my question about CSS...is Texas Time Warner or whatever limited to Texas, or can it be picked up out of state if someone has dish or something like that?

Pretty sure it will be limited to Texas customers of Time Warner Cable only.

Georgia Game will be picked up by Sec/ESPN

Plus TXA21 will most likely pick up 2 games(Idaho/MTSU)

When it's all said and done possibly EVERY game expect Ohio

The TXA21 games might be done. The costs were split between UNT and TXA. Just a guess, but the AD may not want to spend the money on them since so many games are already on TV. Again just speculation based on the cost sharing.

would fox college sports come in a basic direct tv package?

I was wondering about Fox Sports 1 as well. As nice as it is to have options, things were so much easier to figure out when your options were "regular TV or cable"!

May depend on carrier. I have FCS on Verizon FIOS without a sports package. It is not in HD though.

Right, my response was only related to rocket's original question regarding DirecTV.

Thanks! What about CSS? And CBS College Sports?

No CSS, but the game may pop up on one of the Comcast SportsNet channels in the sports pack, but then in that case, blackouts may apply as they did for the Houston game last season. There's really no way to find out if a game is blacked out until game time.

CBSSN is in the Xtra tier and higher.
