This Thursday Johnny Jones' boys play ULL for what will be win #20. That's four straight years of twenty wins. The team is currently tied for the west division #1 spot and a win Thursday and then against ULM to end the season could give us the regular season title, assuring a NIT bid, and the #1 seed heading into the SBC tourney. Oh yeah, and it's the last time this group of seniors will play at the pit. In short they have EARNED your attendance. So brave the traffic people.

Feel free to move this as technically it's not football related. Then again if Todd Dodge were on the verge of a fourth straight winning season we'd tailgate all day for this game and take the day off work. And SBC basketball isn't even rated as the worst conference in America.

I posted in another thread already but we will not be there because it's my baby girl's 7th birthday and she has a 7:45pm soccer game that night. Bummer right? About the soccer game part, not her birthday. :)

We totally wish we could be there!

Cheer for us! I know we will be cheering the boys on no matter where we are!

Good to see JJ promoting this himself. He doesn't have to, of course, but this is the way he can help elevate his recruiting. More butts in the seats = better recruits. He's just taking matters into his own hands now. And who better than him to deliver the message. Coming from RV it only goes so far. This is a true emotional appeal that I think could be quite effective.

Oh and I'm going to be there for the game as well. This will make my second home game this year. Isn't easy for me with the kids and our current situation, but I WILL make this game.

No it is not a bummer! You won't remember in a few years anything about the UNT game...you will not even recall if UNT won or lost, BUT, I'll bet you donuts to dollars that you AND your daughter will remember those soccer games...PRICELESS!

You get an "excused absence" for this game....some things just are not to be missed...memories made! Trust me on this one...

It is very true that there will be lots of greeks. I have talked to at least one guy I know in every fraternity telling them it would be a great brotherhood event. My fraternity (Pi Kappa Alpha) is actually doing an alumni event at the game. I tried to convince them to wear green, but I think most will be wearing Garnet...at least they will be there. I will be wearing green! :D

The usual group of parents and girlfriend will be there with me!

I wouldn't sweat it. For every two parts pink they bring, just bring one part stink to even it out.

      Agreed. But I can understand them trying to get this game in today. If they do it....WSU can get home a day early....instead of having to stay around. Will try to make it too....won't be there at the start though. Go Mean Green!!!

      Three really nice touches for Senior Weekend 1) All ten senior players numbers in big white letters on the field. 5 of them in foul territory going from home plate up to 3rd.....the other five going from home plate up to 1st. 2) Having moms and dads of the seniors all throw out "ceremonial" first pitches......to their kiddos. 3) And honoring WSU's 8 or so seniors....by having our players present them all with one white rose and one yellow rose. (their team colors).....very classy.

      Well as a post script to my above… I renewed before Friday ended. My son and I will be chowing down on hot dogs and drinking cold ones once again. We’ll talk about Brelan’s kick off returns, Toby’s guts, winning at Arkansas and how great Mason was. Reckon the P.A. system will work this year ? GMG ! See you at Apo…I mean DATCU.
