News Flash: A&M eyes Kragthorpe

Middle Tennessee State offensive coordinator Tony Franklin is expected to take the same position at Louisiana Tech.

Franklin would join the staff of new Bulldogs coach Sonny Dykes.

Franklin's attack ranked No. 3 in the Sun Belt last season during the Blue Raiders' run to a 10-3 season, capped by a win over Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl.

It didn't work so well at Auburn.

Yes, he has. From his bio -

Prior to his stint in the NFL, Kragthorpe spent four years (1997-00) as an assistant coach at Texas A&M, including the final three seasons as offensive coordinator. He also coached the wide receivers from 1997-99, before becoming the quarterback coach for the 2000 season.

The rumor is that Kragthorpe is interviewing for the WR coach, so he'd be taking a trip in the time machine back to 1997.

Yep, spent four years there; three of those as OC.

He's a good coach but I wouldn't want him back here again.

Why wouldn't you want Kragthorpe back here? He owuld immediately be the best head coach we have hired here, experience wise, since Fry. Plus, he is used to recruiting heavily in Texas and Oklahoma, which kinda helps since we are North texas. Count me on the other end of that argument--if Kragthorpe could have been hired here or can be hired here next year, we should do it.
