MBB Coach

Instead of continuing to dwell on the past in regards to  the basketball program and the current state of the program, I'm going to start thinking about the future. I'm sure much speculation will come with who WB will hire. He has a background in basketball and I seem to remember some comments about him being a great hire from the basketball world when he was hired. Not saying any of these coaches would be candidates but below are basketball hires made by WB. Some hires came from outside at times while promoting from within twice as well. Has hired assistants and sitting head coaches. These were hires made with WB as AD. I'm not sure but I don't think Missouri or Memphis hired MBB or WBB coaches during his on the staff there.

Wren Baker (Rogers State) 20-11 – stepped down to be full-time AD, now AD at UNT

Lloyd Williams (Rogers State MBB) 52-13 – now husband to Amy Williams who is Head WBB Coach at Nebraska - was assistant coach for WB, played and coached at UTSA

Amy Williams (Rogers State WBB) 97-65 – left to be WBB HC at South Dakota, now WBB HC at Nebraska - was assistant coach at Tulsa, OSU

Justin Barkley (Rogers State MBB) – 142-62 – Currently still MBB HC at Rogers State, was assistant coach at RSU

Mark Kellogg (NW Missouri WBB) – 15-13 – Currently WBB HC at SFA – SFA website says 15 wins was 9 win improvement during his lone year. Went on to WTAMU before going to SFA, was sitting HC at For Lewis College

 Total record 326-164

how about Brown the ex/smu coach----bring him in for about three years--let him get it [program] going in the right direction--saw/heard where he wanted to stay involved and may work for what we could pay--he has expressed interest in a high school job or assist at a college--I think he lives in Flower Mound---just thinking

Just say no to NCAA investigations and possible sanctions.

So, what you are slyly saying here is that WB moving from AD to BBall coach is a possibility? I guess at UNT one really does always have to keep even the most ridicoulus possibilities in mind.

Hadn't really thought about that scenario. With the two added high-level reports, that might give him time to coach, if it comes to that. Just a thought...don't think the probability is more than 0.000652.
