1. If you are counting on other teams to fill your stadium then you are SMU. 2. Wyoming is a very good team and a measuring stick for where we are as a program. They were 9-4 last year! 3. You need to beat upper-level Mid-majors if you want to start establishing a foundation to build on.17 points

Wyoming and the MWC are peer schools we should try to schedule. Much better than any FCS!12 points

What Wyoming brings is a respectable G5 team that has been to four bowls the past five years and won three of them. Gimme more home and homes like this.10 points

The Wyoming series is exactly what fans have been asking for since as long as I've been a fan ("Follow the Boise model!!!!1!!!!!!1!). We're trying to play teams we're supposed to beat... at home.10 points

#1. I totally agree #2. Also agree #3. This is not directed at you, as a lot of people use this phrase. BUT, our first football game was in 1913 and we are still talking about "establishing a foundation?".9 points

Iām excited to play Wyoming. An intriguing team with name recognition. One of their alums is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. We will eventually merge with MWC PAC forces. May as well see where and how we stack up. Plus that away game in the mountains is going to be sweet. GMG8 points

You asked for āa reasonā. Maybe you can turn this into a top 10 list based on the responses.š¤£7 points

Mods, feel free to move this, but it is football(parking) related the MGSF has decided to take away the assigned parking privilege we have been paying for all these years in the Black Lot. They are saying that too many people(~12 per game)are not parking in the right spots, the parking lot monitors are not doing their job. So to alleviate that problem, they are taking away assigned parking from us all. This is a making of their own actions. They take away paper parking passes and switch to digital. No way to see on the windshield. This is an issue they created. I bought into a program that promised assigned parking and am still paying for that. They reduce a benefit, but not the price. Assigned parking is a huge value to me. It is nice to know where you are going to park every time. this was not thought out well. if this is a problem for you, please call the MGSF office and let them know6 points

I guess we are TOO good to play a Wyoming team that went 9-4 last season who beat Texas Tech and also won their bowl game...5 points

Job well done, Rick, for both the fire department and UNT athletics...now you have more time to spend on your desired passions! Will always remember you taking my nephew to spend a day/night at the fire department when he became interested in being a fire fighter...still one of the highlights of his life! Didn't go that route but he was so impressed and you only knew me as fellow Mean Green fan. Thanks and congratulations to a great guy!5 points

Congrats Rick! Great NT fan and friend. Now you can continue your movie career... "There was an even larger role waiting for one new graduate. Rick McKinney (ā90) was looking for a job when he was approached by Jim Hobdy (ā69), then UNTās assistant athletic director of marketing, about a request from Paramount to be in the film. "I got a call from the assistant head costumer, Barry Kellogg,ā McKinney recalls, āand later that month, I met head costumer Dan Moore, who took me to Dallas to get costume fit for the Armadillo mascot suit." Letter jacket given to the players and mascot during filming on campus. As a former member of Talons who had a passion for football and served as the Eagle mascot Eppy (later re-named Scrappy) during UNT basketball games, McKinney was hired as Rowdy the Armadillo. He also served as the equipment liaison between the film crew and the athletic department. "The filming was different than anything I had ever experienced, in life, playing ball, going to school, and growing up on a farm. The people you were side-by-side with were the sweetest folks ever, but the hours were extremely long," McKinney says." https://northtexan.unt.edu/issues/2022-spring/necessary-roughness-turns-305 points

Fans whine about the AD not trying to attract students to games. Then whine when they do something to make it easy for students to attend the Tourney and in turn help the team!4 points

Those areas were actually painted by individual Fraternities and Sororities which helps explain the various color schemes and lettering. They would sit in the areas they had painted.4 points

Been a rough season for sure. If we had a closer on this team I could see 5-6 more wins this year. I have faith in Hodge, he's given me that through 5 years as McCasland's #2, and as a winner in the JC ranks. Only 2 blowout losses this season. Some gritty wins. He is not Benford, thats for sure.4 points
