  1. We just saw SMU win AAC via NIL deals (wins) & nonchalantly give up conference revenue shares so they could join the ACC (respect), due to the massive amount of money their donors have.

  3. You're citing performance on the field in 1 game, after the fact. No brother, they had already bought both. Also, ...something about stones & glass houses... you know, since UNT was sitting at home watching that game.

  4. Smut fans (is there such a thing?) don’t travel out of their zip code, especially on a Thursday night.

  6. Gonna be a hefty crowd. I’d encourage everyone to get there early, grab a beer, and get rowdy.

  7. Great to see Mason succeeding. Really enjoyed watching him during his time at UNT.

  8. You have to give our administration credit, I can't remember the last time they've worked this hard, to get students and fans out. I have received numerous emails and texts, from our people about this game. SMU brings out the sense of urgency in UNT.

  9. Lock them in Super Pit cages until after the game ("Lock The Gate", amiright?) Shut down the rest of Denton Put something in their drinks nickle beers, only available at said price after halftime

  10. How was he not a good college player? He broke records in blocks (they made a montage video, highlighting every block in the tournament). He should have been conference DPOTY. He probably would have gotten all-conference honors as a sophomore if the team wasn't such a catastrophe. Benford was SO bad, even Mitchell's abilities couldn't offset that black hole of awful basketball that he (Benford) brought to the table.

  11. One of the toughest QB I have seen play for the Eagles was Todd Dodge's son. He was undersized , took a lot of hits, and played hurt throughout his career. He left UNT when his father was fired , transferred to either McNeese or NE La. [don't remember which] ,and I don't think played much afterwards.

  12. Also have you heard that the playoff committee is considering not granting SMU a P4 share of CFP revenue. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/sources-cfp-may-withhold-added-revenue-from-smu-despite-power-five-move/ar-AA1mvYqa

  15. I mean, the ACC just accepted 3 teams who wanted into, but were rejected by, the Big 12.

  16. Donating doesn’t have to involve being envious suckups to $mut. The “Evil Empire” on Mockingbird Lane, in Highland Park (not Dallas!), is the poster boy for how to cheat and get things without earning them. Is that really what we aspire to as a program and fan base?

  17. OK, what's the membership criteria? Money?, Liberty alone would laugh at that, they could mail the new consortium a blank check and tell them to fill in the amount. BYU also.

  18. Its going to be a complete break from the NCAA. The leagues will then effectively govern themselves without the nuisance of the NCAA and its selective enforcement. Everyone knows this is coming. The antitrust case is an interesting one but you'd have to be able to make the case in court that a program like UL-Monroe should effectively be treated the same as Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, UGA, etc. The reality is there is a clear financial separation that is only going to be more pronounced in the very short term. The separation is an inevitability. The only question is when.

  22. I’m thinking they got some of the ‘eastern’ Carolina bbq while in Greenville and, besides being a long way from home the better part of the week for 2 straight road games, that junk will make anyone feel bad. Supposedly the ‘western’ Carolina bbq is better but I’m here to tell you it’s ALL junk. If you want pork bbq, don’t go past Memphis.

  23. I would guess we will have some get invited to camps, but I am doubtful anyone will be drafted (at least those who finished their careers here).

  24. Wait, you expect these guys to actually travel for a game? If they do, I’m sure we can handle all 7 of them being somewhere in the Super Pit

  25. I am not saying they don't use X at all because they do. I am saying they are more into Instagram than X. A lot of them will only use X to make big announcements, but their everyday use comes from using Instagram. I hear them all the time when they are trying to ask a girl out for her Instagram kind of like we used to ask for her phone number and rush all over the club trying to find a something to write with and write on.

  26. I wonder if we have inquired about this young man. Sure seems like he could help. De'Braylon Carroll, Rice De'Braylon Carroll has spent four seasons at Rice and improved in each year. This past season, Carroll had a career year with 46 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. For programs looking for a consistent defensive lineman to help wreck other teams offenses, Carroll could be the perfect fit.

  29. You clearly didn't read the article as about 80% of it is strictly about SMU and how receiving zero CFP payouts would affect SMU since your leaders believed they would receive that money to offset some of the lost revenue from receiving zero ACC media dollars. I'd copy and paste the SMU-related sections but so much of it is about SMU that it'd be reposting almost the entire article.

  32. I understand what you're saying, but both the ACC and the American Conference list the Fenway Bowl as one of their top, non-access, bowls.

  33. JD, I believe that you missed a HUGE transfer. Tre Bradford, a highly rated running back who transferred from LSU, isn't on the list. He is a four-star athlete from Lancaster. I believe that this is his last season of eligibility and I expect him to be the featured back this year along with Minnesota transfer Zach Evans. Also Shipley, Chandler and Morris have been confirmed by 247 so I'd guess that the gray could be covered with green now.

  34. Mitchell was the most talented athlete by a substantially margin. However, I would pick every other choice ahead of him to be on my team. I am sure there are players that can duplicate the feat, but Mitchell is the only player I have ever seem dump a basketball with each hand in one jump to the basket.

  39. Just read on official site about NT's good showing in a 4 team meet were the highlight for the Green was getting one second place finish. My question is why is NT willing to be so non-competitive in this sport. They actually had a competitive team till the former coach left and they gave the assistant coach, the current coach, the job. It seems that this women's sport is seldom successful and yet Roth is going on her seventh year as hc. Is there a problem with the swimming facility that limits NT's recruiting or other rationale for their overall at best mediocre performance?

  40. also, to be very clear since I know so much of what I've written the last few days has been negative...I like Hodge, I love what Grant has put in place, I'm still bullish on the direction of this program, and I recognize that progress isn't linear especially in what should best be considered by most metrics a "rebuilding year". that said, we're still talking about a lot of the same warts that we have for the the last 3 or 4 seasons. i like a tight rotation...but when you're playing 8 purely out of necessity because there are 3-4 empty scholarships on the roster (anyone wanna tell me their favorite Bryce Zephir or Rasheed Browne memory?) there's an issue in recruiting. the offense is stagnant. really there hasn't been a real discernible system here for some time, but we had individual players like TP and Javion plus a "plan B" in a Bell, Kai or Abou post back down. I don't buy "tired legs" v. Charlotte so much as I do it was all individual creation, awful ball movement and no "plan B" against a good D (a pin-down/back-cut...or why we can't get Scott iso either facing or posting from around 15-18 feet is beyond me) all that...and the defense just isn't as good this year. Kai, Eady, Martinez, Abou were plus defenders. we're fresh off maybe the best moment in program history. I'm fine with some regression given all factors. but these feel like things that need to be cleaned up if this program wants to keep stepping forward.

  41. The most important thing for us is to finish the regular season in the top four so we can earn the double bye and only have to win 3 games in 3 days.

  42. No one was waving goodbye to Abou. He was beloved here until he QUIT on the team during our postseason run.

  43. I am not saying you are wrong, but I work with a lot of high school kids and they rarely use X. If you can find his Instagram, that will tell you a lot more. They all use Instagram. To a lot of them, using X is like using Facebook or Myspace to us older folks.

  44. Great information thank you for sharing. The results of the transfers up to this point shine a focus on to where Morris's commitment is. I have not been the biggest fan of Caponi, but if your boss is not going to give you the tools to do your job correctly it makes it an uphill battle. If having the worst defense in football didn't shake up Morris and have him focus on adding players then I don't know what will.

  45. I had to laugh because someone on here really doesn’t like Tony Mitchell.

  46. With the likes of Ruben Jones and Edwards and nolan. Perry or Hamlet isn't needed. Now to decide between Bell or Mitchell. Give me Mitchell you cant teach that kind of athleticism and talent.
