I think he gets next year, but what I saw today was pathetic. His adamant refusal to quit the Aune experiment is on par with McCarney’s blind loyalty to McNulty…keep ramming that square peg into that round hole thinking it will fit eventually19 points

We all know he can't win big games. UTSA was the only one in 6 years and I believe the weather really swayed it. Seth has gone through QB coach after another, even trying to do it himself. Can't recruit qbs, none besides Mason have worked out. He doesn't understand the transfer portal. His expertise (offense) ruined the season. 6 years is enough. Fire him now Wren16 points

This bowl was as big of a cupcake as could have been handed to Littrell. A 6-6 MAC team in our own backyard. At least 90% of the crowd was UNT. Littrell is not the coach for UNT. He is not our future. We need a new coach now, not after we endure another under performing season in 2022. Our players were not out-matched in this bowl. Our coach was out-matched.12 points

You completely omitted: The last 2 losing seasons (now 3) The assistant coaching fails The inability to find a decent QB The record against winning teams 5 straight bowl losses No one is calling to fire him after every loss. We are calling to fire him after all the above.11 points

I, for one, would like to thank Littrell for leaving no doubt he isn't the coach to lead us to future success11 points

So, how is that Kason Martin has fallen so far since appearing to be good enough to play at this level 3 years ago in the New Mexico Bowl once Mason went down, and has not been given opportunities for meaningful playing time since? This, despite UNT not really having anyone playing qb well enough to keep opposing defenses honest for the last 2 years.10 points

My thoughts about the game 1. Littrell is not the answer for NT 2. About everybody but the punter had a bad day for NT 3. What has not been addressed, the NT offensive line was manhandled 4. Some who are lauding NT's defense are a little delusional 5. That good D in the second half was largely because of Miami Ohio's conservative play with a lead 6. Thank Aune, he is a ferocious competitor, 7. Sadly, Aune just does not have D1 QB skills; time to go to the next stage in life 8. Novil, you are going to be missed 9. Pitiful attendance, for even a 6-6 team that close to Frisco 10. Time to clean house, Wren10 points

They had some very good moments for a squad stuck on the field endlessly supporting a pathetic offense.10 points

Seth should be fired tomorrow! He should have been fired after the UTSA game. The average ranking of the teams he beat this year was 148. F'ing pathetic especially with one year between us and the AAC. Its time for a new coach who is worried about winning and not his golf game. Give a new coach the opportunity to get his system in place before we move. Seth better be gone on Monday.9 points

I am honestly not sure Wren has the balls to make the right call and let him go.9 points

Wren has always said that he doesn't evaluate coaches until after their season has been completed. It's his decision. Wren knows more about the costs of firing and retaining a coach than anybody on this board. Here's how Seth has compared to his G5 peers: 30 - 34 against G5 opponents during the six year run. Half of those wins (14) came against perpetual cellar dwellers Rice, UTSA, and UTEP. 1 - 5 against our biggest regional rival (Safeway Bowl) - none of the losses competitive. SMU had never once won in Denton prior to Seth being hired. 0 - 5 in bowl games - with four double digit losses being noncompetitive. Seth's body of work against his peers is less than mediocre. His record in higher profile games is worse than abysmal. We can all approximate the costs of firing a coach, but what are the real costs of keeping one we shouldn't have? .8 points

Let’s take a quick break from the Fire Seth, fanbase attendance woes, and UTSA updates to focus on what an awesome pre-party UNT threw down yesterday. Amazing weather, music, food and drink. Had a blast partying with everyone yesterday! Big thanks to everyone who had a hand in pulling it all together in such a compressed timeframe.7 points

Not to be that guy - but I’m that guy 😂Gonna slightly correct you here and put the focus onto the UNT Alumni Association & volunteers for putting the major legwork in on this one. Their tiny staff put in endless hours to pull this off. They’re awesome! Also, shameless plug to join the association to anyone who isn’t already a member!7 points

Our run game did not fail because Torrey was out, it failed because Miami never had a reason to pull their safeties out of the box. Aune couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a ducking boat, as he has proven for two years.7 points

Other than the money, why would we keep Seth around? We know what we get with him. Occasional fluke win here and there, just to lose games when they matter and get blown out in bowl games against teams we match up with on paper. Don't know if I've ever seen a coach blow as many big opportunities as I've seen Seth blow7 points

What I know is that we better find a better than average D1 QB or two pretty soon or we're going to be looking back and saying "remember that year we won six games, wasn't it great?" when we join the AAC. If they aren't afraid of your passing game (as we saw again today) they will kick your ass in the running game (also as we saw today).7 points

If this coach still hasn’t figured out that you have to make a quarterback change when your starter is clearly not up to the task then he should be fired before he even gets on the team bus7 points

Not including people that didn't show up due to extenuating circumstances, the turnout today was pathetic. There's no sugarcoating it. The NT side was nowhere close to being full. We started in our seats on the Miami side, then picked out seats across the field on the 50 to go sit in, walked over there, and sat in the first 4 rows. Given the location, the weather, the FREE food AND alcohol at tailgating, playing a winnable bowl game, this game should have been sold out.6 points

So…don’t we still, essentially, have our pick of any FCS head coach, any FBS OC/DC, some G5 head coaches, and all the guys currently unemployed. Sure a lot of guys already got hired, but many of those got hired to jobs we couldn’t have outbid anyway. I suppose some guys that JUST got hired to jobs we would typically consider poachable may have buyouts too high. But I can’t imagine someone like Eric Morris wouldn’t still be an option even though he just took an OC job.6 points

If this game was on a Saturday or an evening it would have sold out. 2:30 pm on a day many had to work is a tough sell.6 points

And as that same sun comes up in the east, even after that same coach finishes his 4th straight losing season, comes the threads about how we should be happy almost winning. #Hit6 should be some we strive for. Lets keep aiming for "at lease we weren't last"6 points

For every coach hired, there is likely one fired. There are plenty of ex HC's, lower classification HC's and a myriad of asst. coaches looking to move up. Paying Littrell's contract off maybe a lot cheaper than a bad season next year. There is a lot of young talent on this squad, but with the portal and a lot of good HS players still available: NT shouldn't worry about losing recruits. The question at this point is does Littrell have an upside compared to his career thus far. Baker earn your pay.6 points

You see it in other football programs that become average, lifeless, and know it' time for that Head Coaching change. You can "Sense it in the air tonight". "The Trill is Gone". Make it happen Wren!5 points

I’m pissed! I spent $150 on two tickets to watch Spanky screw up another bowl game and $10 an atrocious chicken tenders where I got 3 tiny tenders and a cup of stale fries! Ripoff on both accounts!!5 points

If that’s truly the case then there should be no doubt. If Wren doesn’t fire him I’m not entirely sure I want him as our AD anymore5 points

After losing a family member, and 24 hours away from being hospitalized myself and feeling 70% of myself or lower for over 3 months I would never chastise someone for being cautious. I personally love my school/team, vaccinated now and would take the risk. Especially if I honestly thought they would impress me today and beating a 6-6 MAC team was meaningful. It isn’t and on top of it, they were dominated for the most part. Not worthy of risking your health for. Hell even if I caught a asymptotic case and tested positive I would be pissed to have use additional PTO.5 points

It is definitely, without a doubt, time for a change at head coach. This is the current state of Littrell's product after 6 years? He should be allowed to go be successful somewhere else.5 points

The seats are great. Wide, have cup holders, and all have a great view of the field. Much better than the cotton bowl stadium.5 points
