Seriously? He and his teenage daughter were included in the nine people that died today and this is what you come up with? He wasn't my favorite, but this is a tragedy.9 points

This week he had a total of 11 rebounds,, 16 assists, 60 Points, and 0 turnovers. If he is not CUSA POW it will be an injustice.7 points

No, not at all. There was a lot of hush, hush around Kobe's case. There was a flat-out lie admitted in the Duke LAX case.5 points

Harsh, but I kind of agree with the satire. People forget what the guy did. He was an OG celebrity rapist.5 points

Talk to Branard this morning. Said his visit went great! I like our chances. But some P5 are coming in late. Hopefully we can hang on4 points

My impression of JD is that he doesn't say something is a done deal unless it is. Even if it isn't official. If you want an official announcement, it's not out yet. But I would say it's well past speculation.4 points

My wife and I attended The High Porch Picnic. I'm guessing there were around 1000 people in attendance. The Presentation of the Flag was by the Marine Honor Guard. The two family members that spoke were Hayden's daughter Robin and son Kelly. Speaking on behalf of SMU was Chuck Hixson (SMU QB 1968-70) and Jerry Levias (WR 1966-68). For North Texas the speaker was Mike Henry (OL/GA 1975-77). For the Hawkeyes Head Coach Kirk Ferentz spoke about Hayden's time at Iowa. Among his former assistants present were Bill Snyder, Bobby Stoops and Dan McCarney. Robin Fry thanked the Jones Family for them allowing the event to be staged at The Star. It was a very nice service in a football setting to honor the life of one of the greatest coaches of all time! And we made it back to the Super Pit for the final 10 minutes of the UTEP game!4 points

Do we take a QB? We are loaded with underclassmen, but I would think we would like to bring in one per class. With that in mind, here are some that are still available? Chandler Galban: Frisco Lone Star, 3 star .8356 (Been mentioned by either @TheReal_jayD or @BillySee58) https://247sports.com/Player/Chandler-Galban-46049954/ Brayden Thomas: Bowell, 3 star .8265 https://247sports.com/Player/Brayden-Thomas-46037477/ Dillion Markiewicz: McKinney North, 3 star 82 rating by 247, no composite https://247sports.com/Player/Dillon-Markiewicz-46082486/3 points

This is 100% correct. Unfortunately there’s a large part of our fan base and even a faction on this board that feel otherwise. That it’s someone else’s job. This is college sports. We (the fans) are part of the team. Everyone needs to do their part. If next year we put 30,000 every game in Apogee, 10,000 every game in the Pit. Heck, if we sold out the 1,500 seat soccer stadium every game or the 1,000 seat softball facility every game. You don’t think we would start getting ranked teams? Players want to play in good atmospheres in front of big crowds. Good fan support would transform this program almost immediately.3 points

How about an new arena for the e-sports teams or they will they get the pit when the new basketball arena is built?3 points

Anyone else notice how tired our video boards are looking these days? Surely Wren & Co. have taken notice and can't be happy with this busted look either. (Photo was taken at the UAB game on 11/30/19) I rewatched the Master Plan video and it shows 4 videos boards in the corners of Apogee. Looking forward to the much needed upgrade. Let's make it happen ASAP.2 points

Couple of projects I have heard being mentioned...yes, next up "larger" project if the expansion of the athletic office area to include more weight room space, some new Club Seat type seats and expanded office space. A "smaller"project I was told about recently involves building a tailgate area for RV's/Campers across the street on Bonnie Brae from the mail Apogee entrance in the field where the team/players currently park on game days. Complete with paving, electrical hook-ups, etc. For those looking for a center court for tennis or indoor courts...not on the near horizon at this point in the planning stages. Bruzzy's golf practice facility also getting attention.2 points

I personally like these two kids https://247sports.com/player/asher-link-46084338/ https://247sports.com/Player/Griffin-Brewster-94314/ But the feeling i get with the staff is they arent going to use a scholly just ot get a qb. Unless its someone they really like. Especially with the number of QB transfers these days. I think they are still trying to land a Grad Transfer Qb to come in a compete.2 points

I think Ekeler is a pretty smart guy, and is coming here because he thinks it's better for him and his family. Whether the money is less or the same right now, you can bet he's found reasons, tangible or intangible, to think returning to UNT is the best choice. Heck, maybe he was just happier here. If Graham Harrell has proved nothing else, he has shown that, for the first time in a while, North Texas can give a coaching career the right trajectory. Whether it's the right ultimate destination is yet to be proven, but we're getting there. Thank you, Brint Ryan and others.2 points

I stand corrected. I paid My feed as a student and went. In my mind at that time, it was free and I didn’t have much money for other entertainment. Plus, it was my school, so I went to support them.2 points

For possibly the first time in 140 years the members of my fire station, which are mostly under the age of 35, chose to cancel our subscription outright to the FW Star Telegram over its repulsive content, not so we can simply read it online. Rick2 points

We brought almost 6300 in the final CBI game so it is possible. That game was a blast, not just because of the win and what it meant, but the atmosphere and the impact the crowd had on the game. Wren and company have several weeks to plan out a marketing strategy for the ODU and Charlotte games. Hopefully we see something in the coming weeks.2 points

Looking at the players’ twitter feeds (Hamlet, Z. Simmons, Bell, Gibson) each made note of the energy that the crowd brought and specifically noted that the crowd size was bigger yesterday. Hamlet even asked point blank for a sell out at the next home game. These boys notice. And you know who else does? Recruits. You think that defensive tackle recruit we had in on a visit didn’t take into consideration the amount of fan support he did (or didn’t) observe yesterday afternoon? We have a part to play if championships are what we truly want. Let’s play it.2 points

The next big thing on the agenda is updating and greatly increasing the size of the weight room and athletic center. However, someone came in with a big check and the golf team is getting bumped to the head of the line. That's how these things work to some extent.2 points

I have confirmed Branard will be visiting North Texas this next weekend. Could be taking a chance on very talented DT as a late qualifier. https://247sports.com/Player/Branard-Wright-46037340/1 point

Well, of course it doesn’t. But it does insure that you are in a better league with more TV money, national exposure, and better teams for your revenue sports. TCU used that league to beat some other really good teams that were in it at the time with them, Utah and BYU. Boise State has not joined yet, but they are very comparable to the teams that left. The reward for doing very well in that league has been a BCS bowl spot. Boise has gone to the Fiesta Bowl as a member of the MWC at least once, maybe more. But the bigger difference is that winning that league gets your team into a great bowl setup. CUSA obviously doesn’t offer anything close to the same. We won’t even touch basketball, which has seen Nevada, now SDSU, and in the past, New Mexico, UNLV, and Colorado State be ranked very strongly. I literally cannot remember a CUSA team being ranked in hoops since we joined. Our champ usually is a 12-14 type seed. The MWC would provide us with game against those teams out west plus a few CUSA members that would be going out west with us.1 point

https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/Article/North-Texas-Mean-Green-football-regardless-of-front-D-line-signees-prepare-to-work-142538631/ "Johnson said he’s heard that they’re going to keep it a three-man front, while Rausaw and McCrae were unsure, but all were open to either system. Rausaw and McCrae are ends and their playstyle would shift more with a front change, so they’re looking forward to fitting in and doing what they need to do."1 point

"Legal scholars" - that's rich. https://www.thedailybeast.com/kobe-bryants-disturbing-rape-case-the-dna-evidence-the-accusers-story-and-the-half-confession He apologized because he DID it. Why refused to testify is something she will only know (TTG hit it on the head though). The physical evidence still stands.1 point

I get years have passed but the travel is the same, time zones, empty seats, no actual rivalries to speak of either. The empty seats in HD is a horrendous optic. Littrell even said we need to play in Houston every season for recruiting whether it be Rice or Houston. It sure had nothing to do with Twitter either. There isn't a substitute for being there as a recruit. Also, I can tell you from first hand experience it sucks knowing no fans of your team will ever be at away games. Either way we aren't going anywhere when we can't win against powerhouses like Charlotte and Old Dominion....1 point

We need to put the banners back up designating the student section. I know that seems like a small thing but I think it will help.1 point

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking it might be, but no announcement yet.1 point

Maybe it’s just the past games in the streak making me think this then. Tristan and Josh were our clutch guys, Josh either led or was close to leading the nation one of those years.. But this year it seems like no matter who goes to the line they hit their FT’s. Last night we shot over 91% as a team. Rick1 point

Ekeler is returning to UNT as special team coach. Huge addition for Seth. Great evaluator and great motivator. Perfect fit for special team coach. I figure North Texas will announce 3 known hirings next week.1 point
