We win! They just beat the number 25 team in the country. Let's pack this place Saturday when they play MTSU for the conference title then head over to Apogee to watch football beat UTEP. If they get it done then that will be two conference champs in sports this year. Volleyball and Soccer. Then if football can win tomorrow and beat FAU in conference championship game, that would be three.14 points

There are plenty of alumni that this tweet could/should be directed to. But George is definitely not one of them.10 points

That's fine and all. yes, Austin is passionate, however Austin needs to realize who he is talking to. George is one of the best mean greeners out there. attention whoring and using George on Twitter to get more views is pretty silly.9 points

Everything that I am reading has us just breezing through the remainder of our season and meeting up in the conference championship game at 9-3. I understand, hypothetically 2 of the 3 remaining games should be cupcakes. I am still not 100% sold that this team has the ability to show up every game and play 4 quarters. Am I the only one that feels this way?7 points

Austin is just attention whoring around per usual. He’s having the best afternoon of his life now.7 points
-
If you said "hope to see you at the game" then yeah, that would be a more appropriate response for George. But saying "you should make it out for a game" implies he hasn't been or doesn't normally, when in fact he clearly never misses a game.7 points

I don't see the offense in Austin's tweet. George can do little wrong in my book, but I do think he overreacted a bit. We need a lot more young fans like Austin. I hope he remains an avid fan long enough, that some college kid will complain about him not showing the enthusiasm of their generation.7 points

You don't really get the benefit of the doubt with older alumni now, after multiple remarks regarding the alumni side. It seems to me you got the response you deserved. Also your reply about using his followers is pretty petty and trollish.7 points

I'm assuming Austin's original tweet was meant as tongue-in-cheek, but of course if you ever listen to his morning show, you'd know Jub has virtually ZERO sarcasm filter. Hence the defensive reply... and now completely blown out of proportion. @AustinFromUNT, if I'm right, and you meant that sarcastically, you may want to let him know. If for some reason you were dead serious about challenging THE George Dunham to attend a UNT Football game, then you deserve all the clapbacks you're getting my man.6 points

I like you, kid...but I will like you more if you don't do anything stupid like you just did. Go pick a fight with the faculty or alumni who refuse to give a $hit about UNT having football. Those are the ones you need to draw offsides and have them say/post something that can be beneficial to raising our profile. Getting George mad doesn't help anything--he has so much influence, all he has to do is make fun of this on air one time and it makes things even worse than it already is for us with getting attention from our students, alumni, faculty, etc...6 points

Although, I’ll admit the direction Austin took was misguided, I don’t think the appropriate response is “look at all I’ve done and you’re just a kid” when both want the same thing: #PackApogee6 points

I'm still struggling to get the salt off my shoulder from the time George snapped at me for involuntarily chuckling at his impassioned "Hire Hank Dickenson as AD because he's my old friend!" speech during that super secret Ernie/Trip meeting in June of last year. Now I kinda wanna finally go get a twitter account and start a twitter trolling campaign with "Hey George! You FINALLY gonna make it to a game?"5 points

Never been a fan of George for things like this. He has no problems trying to big time you.5 points

All George had to say was "It's exciting! Haven't missed a game yet." and be done with it. Trying to crush a guy and spout off about olddenton, like it's something we should all aspire to, is dumb. We've all dealt with olddenton long enough, that's part of why we're in the situation we're in. Don't try to big-time another fan, as if he's not fan enough, because he wasn't around as long. It's like the band groupies that try to claim you're not as big a fan, because you weren't around when they were making records in their grandmother's garage. Stupid. PS - If Austin had said "Hope to see you there", we wouldn't be talking about this either.4 points

The reason we can speculate about being in the C-USA final game is because our other 2 conference games are against teams that have a combined 1-17 record. Army has nothing to do with that. Of course we all know Army is going to be a huge challenge. They're already bowl eligible! I'm glad we have them at home, and no-doubt the guys will have revenge on their mind.4 points

I just saw a billboard on 35 advertising this game. It was the digital billboard that rotates through advertisements on NB 35E at 121 right near La Hacienda Ranch. Love it!4 points

Why are people hoping for new Orleans bowl vs a sun belt team? We are in a position to finish top 2 in the conference. Shouldn't we hope for a better bowl against a better opponent?4 points

Man I hope we can keep Seth for as long as possible. He's just a winner.4 points

don't they need to fire Kingsbury first????4 points

I didn’t say it because “....#OldDenton”. I said it because you guys shoving your bullshit in everyone’s faces around here grew tiresome long ago. I like and agree that we need a new attitude, but the approach the two of you take isn’t strengthening our fan base and it’s image as you claim to be your objective. It makes us look petty and negative if anything. I’m all for varied points of view but there is a wrong way to be right.3 points

Where did you get these? I would love to have a couple, but will not be able to make it to town this weekend.3 points

This is impressive. Both winning and losing our bowl game for the rare 15 game season. Bold strategy Cotton, let's see how it plays out3 points

Yep, the longer he stays here the more money that guy is gonna make down the road. Also, as depressing at it is, Seth will be pulled away one day and Harrell, if he stays here could step into the HC role with a team that he help build. I think that is the smartest move for him.3 points

Yep, if you are a true Mean Greenie, relish the success of all entities of the University. I'm proud of the soccer/volleyball success, just as I am football. And by the way, the One O'Clock Lab band ain't bad either....neither is the Green Brigade and the Cheer squad and Dancers, etc....the list goes on and on.3 points

Good read Brett. I love the fact that North Texas is a program of opportunity for so many who are overlooked by the P5's. Rick3 points

History could be made on Saturday. A win clinches the regular season Conferenfe USA Championship, which would be a first ever championship for the program.3 points

If the Independence Bowl has interest in us, we need to take it. That is right in the middle of a recruiting footprint that LaTech has owned for sometime. We'll also travel very well to the game and it will be vs a quality opponent. It's a win-win.3 points
