I'm guessing losses will include -

Texas, Louisiana Jack and Akron.

SMU is such an emotional game who knows. I imagine they will be favored.

I think the days of us just waltzing through the Sunbelt are officially over. I predict the Sun Belt champion will have 2 league losses this year.

I think we will lose to Lafayette and Florida Atlantic but will win the rest.

I think our record will be around 500, we will beat smu and will win the sun belt on a tiebreaker. Other thoughts?

This could be a tricky year to watch.

On one hand we need our young guns to step up (FR. and RS Fr.)

We have experienced QB's and a top flight RB (when healthy) plus a big bruising FB if used correctly.

As I stated earlier the only true loss would be UT, but we should have a chance to win the rest if DD and coaches seek to out coach the opponents rather than keep trying to run over them with Dickey Ball and a soft zone defense.

Overall predict 7-5 (5-2 Belt)

Lose to UT, Tulsa, ULL, MTSU (about time with a new coach), and Akron

Of course a pipe dream would be everything clicks our new coaches are awesome, DD/RF open playbooks and the Defense gets back to DeLoach type defense from 2001. easily could be 2-10 or 11-1

Being that I will be buying tickets next year (no longer a student) if we lose to SMU I will not go to a single game until Dickey is removed as coach. The alumni have to speak and if Dickey isn't capable of staying ahead of SMU then he is not the coach for us.

The question is, will that be good enough to go bowling again? I hope not--only b/c I want the Sun Belt rep to be good enough to win the game. I still think we are a year away. It'll take time for us to cleanse ourselves of all the losses from last year, but by mid-year we ought to be turning the corner with all the underclassmen and the new DC. I will be happy with 1 OOC win this year, and thrilled with 2. We have a history of starting slowly under DD and we are still relatively inexperienced.

agreed. although FIU might be a lot closer than you think. They won several games at the end of last year and return a lot of players from that squad.

I would love to beat SMU, and I think it is important we do, but I would take a loss to SMU and a 9-3 season over a 6-6 season that features a W over the ponies. In other words, I want to sniff the top 25... at least get a couple votes. Baby steps...

Ok, I will be assuming that there will be no major injuries in fall practice. I will also assume that the development that went on at QB, RB, DL, and in the OL during the spring continues into the fall.

Assuming all those things (and assuming that all of the coaching staff is wearing their "I didn't come here to lose" t-shirts under their game day gear), we should go 11-1
