After reading through some of their posts it made me realize that I don't thank the mods here enough. Thank you to the folks who keep this board relatively kid friendly. I don't know what to make of their hire. On the one hand, she's definitely considered an up and comer by several sources. On the other, they haven't really won anywhere she's been.

My friend posted this on her Snapchat story. The professor asked the class who we’re playing Saturday and here is what students thought. 2/22 said Rice, 5/22 said UTSA, 4/22 said UTEP, and only 11/22 (half) said Army. Half isn’t terrible, but I would like that number to be 75-80%. On the bright side, the professor said he will be at the game wearing green.

Great news I think overall the athletics arms race is going to end a lot of programs. This signals that NT doesn't plan to be one.

This might blow the minds of some of the youngsters...but back in the 80s you could literally walk up to the gate at any time and show a Student ID (which didn't have a picture) and nothing else and just walk right into the game.

quick thoughts 1. Lots of fun sexism and racism over there. 2. NAU does have a very nice swimming/diving facility...had the chance to bang out a few miles there while we were in Flagstaff...swimming at 7000' is a challenge. 3. someone needs to rein in Munthe. he's embarrassing.

Calling it a “venue” gives the impression that you can go there to watch something. The diagrams I’ve seen do not include any areas for seating.

@Snowy This doesn't help you with what you are working on, but just throwing this out there. There should be a hybrid approach. Students can reserve their tickets like they do now prior to the game. This would come with a wristband allowing entry into the lower 100-level seats. Any student can show up day of game and be scanned in and sit in the upper 200-level seats.

Guys I honestly believe this is grades relative. It's the end of the semester. And like I said on the podcast Mean Green are only bringing in mid term Jucos. I'm thinking he didn't make grades. Reason we offer the other mid term Linebacker moments before.

We might be on to something. We finally found a way to end the chant at the same time.

I would like to see the AD set up a table in one (or both) of the north corners letting folks know how to get tickets to the Rice game, providing info on where to stay, advertising the tailgate activities, etc. Even if few take them up on it, it puts the idea in people's heads that travel to road games is actually a thing.

Hi! I'm working on a project w/ the Athletic Department to measure the effectiveness of the electronic tickets and to predict student attendance for future home games. I understand that in years past, students were able to swipe their ID to enter Fouts field and did not need the pick up a paper ticket. Can anyone confirm this? Can anyone confirm when we started using paper tickets for students? 2011? I know this year is the first year of electronic tickets. Thanks! -Snowy

Some of us on GMG.com last year got labeled as heritics with our excitement of having #6 on our team. Some of us even followed his HS career. MFine is taller than Doug Flutie & last I remember DF had a pretty remarkable career at. Boston College. They have sent out multiple emaila this week (one of Wednesday and Today).. tweeted about on UNT athletic accounts and have signs up..the text to claim tickets also went out today as well.. they even said next home game is next weekend multiple times.. would like to know how many of these 22 actually go to games...

Sorry to be a downer, but this would pretty much guarantee we wouldn’t fill the stadium. Just giving tickets away doesn’t get them into the stadium. On a similar note, maybe if you gave them a voucher good for a free ticket at the stadium while supplies last, now you’re talking.

I like the 4pm kickoffs but I wouldn't want to do them for the first 2-3 home games because it's still usually balls hot and sun still out staring right at you.

Answer to the original question is no, at least for the MAC it is. The wind chill in Dekalb Illinois is currently 16 degrees. Who in hell wants to watch a game in that? You gotta have these games during the day. Rick
