What an unfortunate bunch of responses to a very simple statement from a 19 y/o young man. None of you know Brad. None of you have any insight into the program. If you are unhappy playing for the current head coach does that automatically make you a loser? Is it possible that there may be some legitimate concerns? The young man didn't say anything negative about anyone individually. It's too bad some of you could not give him the same consideration.

Yeah, he DIDN'T "say anything negative about anyone individually". Just, the WHOLE University, Student Body, Faculty, and Alumni. What Preppy P#$%(*!!!

He didn't say "I can't wait to leave Dan McCarney". He said "Can't wait to leave UNT". I think you have to suffer an aneurysm to want to leave North Texas

Kids really need to do a better job of understanding the consequences of social media. Once it's out there, there are no take backs, and not everyone will get exactly what you are saying.

All of our college age folk need to understand that one of the first things future employers do is look at your social media use. The wrong thing, the wrong pictures, and you are magically out of the running.

Keep on giving the finger to the man, but don't be surprised when he gives it back when you finally decide to grow up.

Especially since the Library of Congress is going to be cataloguing all public tweets.... ever.

Think about that.

The first thing most employers do these days is check out a person's social media. It is a good indicator of how responsible that person is in their private life. Posting a bunch of drunk pictures of you and your buddies? Maybe some sexy, half dressed photos because you work out all the time and people just NEED to see your progress?

Say goodbye to future employment.

That is the way it works in the real world, young lads and laddys.

Be smart.

I agree with you on the rest, but with this, if the photos aren't too racy I don't think most employers would frown upon it. Having an exercise nut put up pictures isn't all that different from if you're really into rock climbing or mountain biking and want to put up something about that. But yeah, if you're trying to look like a stripper then that's different.

We are not talking about what should and shouldn't happen. We are talking about what does happen.

Some employers may be fine with it. Others won't. And you will never know, because they simply won't call you back for a second interview.

Be smart.

Besides, it's a DB move if your a guy and a desperate cry for attention of you are a girl.

Who wants to hire either of those type of people?

Definitely. I was thinking about the other side as well though, if it's the exception who is a personal trainer or competes in powerlifting or bodybuilding or something, they wouldn't want to work for someone who frowns on that sort of thing. So for the ones who are just asking for attention, ouch. But for the ones pursuing something in that area as a competition or job, it works both ways - if the employer's cool with it, great, and if not, hey, they don't want to have that tension between pursuits anyway.
