Slinker Lands New Job

I know many had issues with her but I am surprised no other school out there gave her any type of job. If not in the D1 level then what about D2 or D3? I guess she may have not had the desire to coach anywhere else if it meant leaving this area as she's been here for so long. Interesting stuff though.

I'm sure Hockaday pays handsomely.

Good luck Coach Slinker...you know, it might have beent hat she just wanted to stay in the DFW area after, what...19 years at UNT. You put down some pretty deep roots in 19 years. Anyway, good luck toCoach Slinker.

I don't think anyone ever questioned her character, but many realized that after 19 years it was time to move on. I'm happy for her and wish her much success at Hockaday. Coach Slinker left NT with dignity and class, something another previous coach chose not to do, and she deserves nothing but success in her new position.

I thought that lady used up all of her 9 lives with you guys.

She has obviously landed on her feet quite well, with a fairly prestigious institution.

She must have some exceptional personal qualities.

I'd say that Hockaday is more than "fairly" prestigious. Maybe the same level as St. Marks School, but for girls. Mind you I'm no advocate of private over public schools, but Hockaday is definitely up there in terms of quality education.

I agree with you.

I wasn't using "fairly" in the usual, literal sense, but with a certain "tone." Like I might say, "Harvard is a fairly good school." Anyway, I know tone usually doesn't come across on blogs....just having fun with words in this post.

Ok, I get it. And you are a fairly good wordsmith (but then so am I)!
