Since the politically correct powers will eventually win the battle of the Indian names, let's be thinking about our suggestions for the replacement names for our opponents with Indian names. I'm sure that the opponents will be thrilled to hear our replacement names. Keep it clean.

For Monroe, they could always be the fight'n Nutrias. http://images.google.com/images?q=nutria&hl=en&lr=&sa=N&tab=ii&oi=imagest

Or they could borrow the Sherveport minor league team's name......the Mudbugs.

Some of the fans of Arkst. are trying to get the administration interested in the Red Wolf. If their administration doesn't go for it thenm, we could suggest something obvious like the "Fight'n Ridge Runners".

Good idea, drex...........and I promise I will not hi-jack this thread!:)

Hope all is well for you...........Here's a toast to better times for those of us who are running out of time to have such! LOL!

Nutrias, great name for ULM, Bill. I have actually shot a few of those varmints in a few rice fields near Alvin.

---Change them all to "The Fighting Custers" or if that it is not acceptable then use, "Moonshiners" or "Bootleggers" .. after all, what Indian or other ethnic group could object to that? We have Sooners and Jayhawks which refer to cheaters and outlaws .... so why not? The "Arkansas State Moonshiners" sort of seems appropiate. Another possibility would be "The Fighting Cockroaches" which many people find more desirable than "Spiders" (Richmond) or Rattlers (St. Marys in San Antonio).
