Got a chance to tour a few months ago and it is very impressive. Combining the 2 sports was genius. I also believe it gives insight as far as design on the direction UNT is going. Crazy cool!

I’m assuming this new venue will meet the requirements to host NCAA tournament matches as well as conference tournaments  for both soccer and track and field?

Maybe one day this stadium will host our NCAA Div-I lacrosse team(s), too.

The venue looks great. If we are looking for something to complain about, having a track around the soccer field isn’t exactly ideal, but that would be the only thing. I do hope that in the longer term the soccer team gets its own standalone venue.

it's about time we establish rivalries with the private liberal arts colleges of the Berkshires

UT got close to establishing a program years ago. Apparently some Title IX drama prevented it at the last minute. SMU has a multimillion dollar lacrosse facility now. Lacrosse is a sport where UNT could get in on the ground floor. Not many D1 programs on this side of the Mississippi. The talent is here too. Dallas HS players are being recruited to blue blood programs in the northeast

I would love it. And you're right. There's definitely more and more talent here in DFW and Texas. It would be amazing to see UNT capitalize on it before a Texas, Oklahoma, or someone else did. I know it's hard to make a living professionally, even if you play both leagues. Do you think if the NLL and MLL paid players more that'd spark even more participation -- maybe among the smaller players who can't find a spot on their high school football teams?
