We are the least aggressive team in all of college football. What we lack in size, we make up for by being one of the slowest teams in college football.

I hope some of the kids we redshirted this year will pan out. If they don't, we wont be sniffing 6 wins anytime soon.

Last year it wasn't that obvious as we took advantage of multiple teams in down years and didn't need to be overly aggressive to win. This year we haven't had those luxuries so it's on the coaches to put the players in position to seize momentum, and this coaching staff just doesn't do that. It's one of the most frustrating aspects of Mac's tenure. That, and the fact recruiting doesn't seem to be panning out.

After seeing the way Dajon has been handled and the playcalling from Canales and Skladeny I'm not surprised we struggle to first get recruits, then keep them.

It's frustrating. We should be better but we keep handicapping ourselves constantly.

I watched the A&M, LSU, and FSU games and didn't bother to even follow this train wreck of a team. I won't get pissed at NT anymore because after the USM game, frankly I just dont give a damn. Mac has sucked the desire to be interested right out of me.

If he won't let Dajon play then maybe McNulty and Greer can trade reps. McNulty couldn't start for D3 Wartburg College in Iowa much less any FBS team. If his dad wasn't Mac's buddy, this dude would be in a frat drinking beer in Iowa City right now.

He noticed all of them. Had Dajon simply turned the ball over once, he'd have been given another chance. The fact is, he'd already put UNT in early holes two games in a row with his turnovers.

He wasn't prepared because he didn't prepare during either the 2013 or 2014 off-season. Mac was forced to use him because Greer was so bad. But, once in the games, he turned the ball over even more than Greer.

Just admit that both QBs were busts. We are stuck with McNulty because no one else with even a lick of experience can play the position.

Greer was so bad that even the defensive backs weren't in range to get the ball. How are you so aware of Dajon's knowledge of the playbook? He has the best arm on the team and is the most mobile. He has given up too many turnovers, this is true but Matt Schaub did the same thing and he was an experienced NFL qb. Williams' was trying ot make plays because he wanted to win the game. Maybe he is a little too "school-yard" but that can be cleaned up with reps and coaching. If properly coached, Williams WILL be an all-conference quarterback before his career ends here and he will likely rewrite our record books. It is going to take committment from both Dajon and the coaches for that to happen though.

Yup.

Sure, Dajon screwed up. Sure, he gave the opponents points. It's not ideal. But he also energized the team, has his WRs excited and active, and was able to move the ball even with the naff play calls coming in from Canales. His off season wasn't completely ideal, we get that, but it's in the past. Nothing can be done about that now.

So we play Dajon and hope he learns and develops. His performance against Nicholls was encouraging, and Indiana was about what could be expected against a B1G 10 team. UAB was a disaster, but every player has at least one performance like that in his career - but it's hardly career ending. The Chargers are hardly going to get rid of Rivers after his 3 INT 1 fumble game against Miami, are they?

UNT has three games left. Let Dajon start all three and lets see what we have. We'll obviously have a QB battle (again) going into 2015 but hopefully this time Dajon learns from his mistakes, matures, and becomes the player many of the UNT fanbase think he can be. IF Mac lets him. If Mac lets Dajon walk without at least bringing Chris Riddle in then it's time to clean house and start again with a fresh coaching staff because clearly this staff has no idea how to connect with players, develop players, and attract players to play for UNT despite some of the best academics, best facilities, and best college town experience in Conference USA.

Dajon put himself behind the eight ball with his summer work and then the injuries in camp - related to his lack of summer work. But that can be fixed this off season and it's another chance to prove himself. But when you have a risk-averse staff the last thing they want is a player willing to take risks, especially when they don't work out or they're not authorized.

Apart from last week's game against FAU, I can't remember a single game where Mac has taken the riskier decision to seize momentum. It's all by the book conservative stuff that kills the teams and encourages them to give up. Why fight when the coach won't fight for them or believe in them?

I can't understand how you guys cannot grasp the fact that the playbook has to be dumbed-down because we don't have any QBs/WRs(sans Harris) who can run the full-bore playbook effectively. Thankfully, we have a big road-grading OL and some good RBs (and a diamond being polished before our eyes in Wilson). So, you run the ball, ALOT to take advantage of your strengths. Problem is, the opposing defenses know our strengths, and gameplan against it (except FAU, I don't know what they were doing). Our weaknesses are so weak, we cannot overcome them.

You guys saw the offense during DT's last 2 years when he could be trusted to drive the bus, right? Lots of creativity. Lots of explosive plays. Spreading the ball around. Even rush/pass playcalls, Chancellor was dependable, Smith was dependable, a young Harris was coming on... The playbook could be opened up.

Now, IF the qb can get the ball to the WRs, 1/2 the time, the ball is dropped. The other 1/2 the time, it's going to Harris.

And for DW, it's not just the TD to INT ratio... remember the fumbles too? Also, any stat accrued during the Nicholls game should be thrown out. They're totally meaningless because the level of competition was just terrible. This leaves Indiana & UAB. Those were atrocious games for DW.

Right now, the best option we have is the guy we dreaded in the spring. He's the best option, and he can't get the job done. We have to play ultra-conservatively because we cannot trust him.

But, you still play to win the game. Every Game. No opening up the playbook to "work on" next year at the detriment of trying to win the game today.
