  1. We had an open home date. Wyoming had an open away date. The two ADs talked and scheduled a game. That's why we play Wyoming at home.

  3. The Women won a school record 22nd game today by dominating the 4th quarter today at Rice using experience and premium gas . This was after they won in 4 OTs earlier this week. . Support this team! They have worked hard and Coach Burton and his staff are building something here .

  6. Didn't we host UVA in the NIT the year after they won the championship or was it two years after?

  7. I’ll have none of that nonsense!!! Chandler Morris was 100% never truly committed to North Texas (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and was 100% headed to Texas State as a way to secure his father’s commitment as a coach (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and he 100% only stayed committed to North Texas when Texas State got the guy they wanted all along who had been available in the portal for three months (though there’s zero evidence to back this up).

  8. I’m watching Creighton and Marquette right now, and I hope we NEVER schedule them at the Super Pit. They won’t bring a lot of fans and they’d be using us to recruit DFW hoopers.* *Shhhh, don’t mention that things like airplanes and social media make it possible to recruit any kid in America from anywhere

  9. The team deserves it. I have 4 tickets available if someone needs them!

  10. Well, when a man and a woman have had too much to drink, they hook up. Due to their intoxicated status, they forget to use a condom, and the man doesn't know how to pull out. Then the woman forgets that she is out of "Plan B". Nine months later, they have a baby. 6 months after that, I'm getting called to their house repeatedly for domestic violence calls because neither one can act like a fking adult. Then I have to explain to one that the other has established residency and does in fact live there, despite that they don't pay any bills or their name isn't on the lease, and I can not "make them leave".

  11. 1. If you are counting on other teams to fill your stadium then you are SMU. 2. Wyoming is a very good team and a measuring stick for where we are as a program. They were 9-4 last year! 3. You need to beat upper-level Mid-majors if you want to start establishing a foundation to build on.

  12. What a happily boring win. I could use more of these

  13. Channel 8 gave a "shoutout" to our WBB program's record-setting number of wins on last night's sports segment. Was nice to hear it publicized in the local media. Now let's beat Memphis and get part of the conference championship! GMG

  15. Kernal the 5th year senior from Commerce that Burton brought over was the best player again on the court with 22 pts! Too bad we don’t have her for another year! Definitely be there for the tournament to support our team. Looks like if everything plays out in the last reg season game the way it should, we would have the #2 seed for the tournament with Tulsa getting the #1 seed because they have the head to head over us! Tempe would be the #3 seed. Go Mean Green!

  16. They have a fair amount of fans and alumni down here. I wouldn't discount their attendance.

  17. Wyoming and the MWC are peer schools we should try to schedule. Much better than any FCS!

  18. I was discussing this with my UNT friend last night. It is tricky because you have to factor in eligibility and I am not 100% sure of who has how many seasons left eligibility wise with all the covid year stuff and whatnot. My best guess would be as follows: 1 - Jason Edwards 2 - Aaron Scott 3 - Rubin Jones 4 - John Buggs 5 - CJ 6 - Robert Allen assuming he has more time 7- Sissoko 8 - Matthew Stone

  19. Have we ever hosted a previous years final 4 team?

  20. Good game and W today! Nice to put a complete game together. Great to see Rubin have such a good game. Dominated the hustle stats. Press break looked much cleaner and more efficient. Allen continues to play well for us. Measuring stick game against FAU next. Looking forward to that one.

  27. Fun Fact about Jordan McCloud. His brother Ray-Ray McCloud has been in the NFL since 2018 but they're only 3 years apart. This grown man (Jordan) will be 25 in November and has been in college since 2018, the same year his brother was drafted. Hopefully one day college sports will mostly be played by college-aged kids again. Seven years in college is too damn much. Edit to add: since 2018, his brother Ray-Ray has played for 4 different NFL teams (Bills, Panthers, Steelers, 49ers). With Jordan going to Texas State, he will now be on his 4th different FBS team since 2018 (South Florida, Arizona, James Madison, Texas State).

  29. However, to put in perspective, how large was the student body in 76/77 and 2011/2012 vs 45,000 today? The number that I think is most important is percentage of student body in attendance at our basketball and football games.

  30. Wyoming had been on the OOC schedule for years before Jared became the AD. The only decision he could have made now is to pay whatever the breakup fee is for not playing the games.

  36. I’m excited to play Wyoming. An intriguing team with name recognition. One of their alums is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. We will eventually merge with MWC PAC forces. May as well see where and how we stack up. Plus that away game in the mountains is going to be sweet. GMG

  37. What Wyoming brings is a respectable G5 team that has been to four bowls the past five years and won three of them. Gimme more home and homes like this.

  38. The Wyoming series is exactly what fans have been asking for since as long as I've been a fan ("Follow the Boise model!!!!1!!!!!!1!). We're trying to play teams we're supposed to beat... at home.

  39. But fear not Rudy! Because more and more school boards are pushing for an "abstinence-based" sex education program. Unwanted pregnancies and dysfunctional new parents are soon to be a thing of the past.... therefore, making your job much easier.

  41. Saw D’Andre Payne “promoted” to CB coach so it looks like they are finally admitting they don’t give a damn about TEs and not replacing Gilbert. (Hope no one paid to learn about the next TE coach…)

  43. #1. I totally agree #2. Also agree #3. This is not directed at you, as a lot of people use this phrase. BUT, our first football game was in 1913 and we are still talking about "establishing a foundation?".

  44. The nerd in me thanks you! So not only are we on track for the first 4,000 average since 2011-12, we're on pace for the highest average since 1976-77. That is crazy to me!!

  45. Left UNT to be the Special Asst to the HC at Texas. Less responsibilities, a more recruiting-centric management role and most likely a significant raise. Same title they have Gary Patterson
