  1. And don’t forget...Ramsey did all that while having enough time to take two steps before a D End was breathing down his throat, right? Ramsey did all of that while running for his life, right? Ramsey did all of that after having to pick himself up off the ground from getting freight trained 3-5 times a game, right? After all the years of watching football you have under your belt it’s shocking how little you’ve retained at what makes a QB successfull...AN OFFENSIVE LINE Scott Davis, Mitch Maher, Scott Hall, Giovani Vizza and Derik Thompson.......all had better lines than the line Mason Fine has had to stand behind this year. 2. Posting a crap topic like that here on gmg should earn you a ban. That’s what I think.

  3. This is at Spring Creek and 75 right by my house. I personally think they missed the chance to say (Littrellally), but maybe it doesn't flow as well. Maybe Litterally?

  4. This is a milestone victory for UTSA. This weekend is the one year anniversary of when they last beat an FBS team.

  5. SMU is ranked 24 and can’t even sell out their stadium. We were 2-2 going into Houston and drew 30k. SMU is a good team, but their fans are non-existent.

  7. No, Fine is no Ramsey; he is better. Fine has better touch and no way near the interceptions that Ramsey had. Fine is not a great running quarterback, but Ramsey was like a statue back there. Ramsey, also had a lot of future all NFL players on his team. What better competition did Ramsey play against? The MVC was no better than CUSA. Just because Cincinnati, Louisville and Memphis are now very good football programs, doesn't mean they were in the Ramsey era. I was a big Ramsey fan, he was the second greatest QB to ever wear the Green. Fine just happens to be the best.

  12. They managed the win. Still, at 5-0 and ranked “#24” even the announcers pointed out how nobody in Dallas gives a shit and didn’t show up

  17. Apparently some do not realize that CUSA is the best conference NT has ever been in. Unless, you want to look at just basketball; when NT was part of the MVC. Why bash CUSA, do you think that helps anything? Maybe you believe that the NT administration can just call up and join the MWC, AAC or a P5 conference. NT dropping back into obscurity, what does that mean? Visibility of a program is dependent on who they play and how they preform. Getting clobbered against P5's in the OC, provides lots of visibility. There is a possibility that NT could be better next year. Fine is a rare talent, he is not going to be replaced by a better QB. That does not mean that NT, who appears to be recruiting better; won't improve. Likewise if Littrell leaves, NT may find another better coach. That is why those salary numbers and inter-structure improvements are vital.

  23. Yeah, that was hilarious when he said that "BUT, we have a hell of a game here." And people left early only to come back in once SMU showed a pulse

  29. Mason needs to go into conference play and start blowing heads off. Play each and every down like it’s his last. Go into Southern Miss and start throwing lasers and crap down their throats. I’m excited about this game. GMG!

  31. Wouldn’t miss that game. RAMBLING ROADS... I just hope losing to SMU & UH this Fall doesn’t define this program’s last 4 years as it seems to with some as you read this forum. We’re just not there yet is the lesson we should have learned from those 2 losses. Slick SMU out-smarted many schools with a new way to recruit, win over-night & get ranked. Having a Heisman winner 75 years ago & being Dallas 2’nd professional team in the 80’s apparently still gets the attention of poll voters albeit they still can’t draw at Ford. Many of their students apparently need a map to find their on-campus stadium on Game Day. A school located in University Park has to remind Dallas that a school few in Big D can afford is “their school.” (Wonder who Dallas County could belong to)? 🤔 Some of us had created in each of our respective Green Kool-ade minds something that just didn’t exist yet. Still, the SMU-UH losses showed us what we have to do. There is certainly no ambiguity about that if there ever was. The Portland State disaster for a program that I still think the prior coaching group thought Apogee’s opening alone would recruit North Texas a winner. Gray Eagle & others of us could not understand post-Apogee opening why having such a venue didn’t show better results in our recruiting hauls. Seems the coaching staff from that era thought that all they had to say to recruits was—here we are, y’all come see our new digs & BTW here’s the dotted line. • There was some talent alright with McCarney with even some leftovers from the Dodge era that won a HOD Bowl game before a record crowd of Mean Green fans, but just not enough was leftover to have had several consecutive winning seasons pre-Portland State. So this was the bottomed-out culture in the Mean Green Village that Seth Littrell inherited. Some on GMG even said he was hired too late to have had a chance to have a good across the board 1’st recruiting class—except for a kid from Peggs, Oklahoma. • Rarely have newly-hired North Texas HFC’s the last half century (many of us have observed) ever inherited a cupboard that you could (exactly) say was filled with over-whelming talent. At North Texas we know what we have to do now so dammit’—let’s do it! The journey can many times still be as exciting as the destination. GMG!

  37. Very few were thinking that after we spanked SMU and Arkansas last year. We cant do anything about what conference we’re in right now. We can only control what we do with the next team in front of us. C-USA hasn’t held NT back..NT has held NT back. Rick

  38. It's kind of like the children's story The Emperor's New Clothes . Jazz sucks, everybody knows it sucks, but nobody wants to be the person to admit it. (This is where one pseudo-intellectual lies and pretends he actually likes jazz) How bad is it? Nobody would ever go back to prison if they played KNTU music. Seriously, how many thousand times can we sit through "A jazz ensemble made famous in 1927 by Spanish composer blah blah blah..." I'm not saying we need to play Rocky and Star Wars for every halftime show, but I'd love to see the Green Brigade finally cut themselves free of that jazz albatross they've been dragging for over half a century. I get it, that music was popular at one time, very very long ago, but it's outdated and stinks now. Jazz is to music what Surströmming is to food. Other than that, I love the Green Brigade.
