I don't care if Scooby Doo is their quarterback, I just want to be 3-2 with a two game winning streak going into the rest of the season. After some kneejerk reaction (I'm referring to myself) after the SMU game and the first half of the Cal game, this team may be better than I thought.9 points

can you really even define Ray? he's more of an essence than anything else... almost heavenly8 points

The same night Nathan Tune's career was ended with a (broken hip?), his dog Ray ran away never to be seen again. Which was representative of much of what we were going through during the Dodge years. The significance of tying it in with the Houston game is that Nathan Tune's little brother will be Houston's starting QB.6 points

Are you talking about the quarterback quitting/redshirting thing, or the scrotums on fire thing?6 points

I hope it backfires on them. And what about Tune? Comes in and bails them out to give them a fighting chance at a successful season last year. Then is benched this year for King. Now has to do it again. What if he leads them to a turnaround this year and a bowl win. You gonna look him in the eye and explain how he has to sit again in 2020? Building up to be a sorry situation for Tune. Rick5 points

He honestly reminds me of Devin Singletary from FAU. Singletary was about 5'9" 200 lbs. Siggers is 5'8" and 200 lbs. He's just as punishing and aggressive of a runner as i remember Singletary being. The same reasons Singletary gave the conference fits are the same reasons Siggers tortures the conference during his career. If he continues like this, expect great things in college and at the NFL level. I'm very excited about Siggers being in green.5 points

I especially love Reeder's speech at half. I know we've been a bit iffy on him so far but I love the mentality.4 points

Yep, he's selfish and not a team player.4 points

Couple of Houston posters came over to Ponyfans after we played ya'll. They definitely took notice of the kid. Should've, too. He was fun to watch, even when running our DB's over.4 points

Well now if we win it is because King is not there but if we lose it will look really bad for us. I was looking at Tune's brief numbers and they look pretty good. He didn't seem to be a running qb from his limited stats. We can't overlook him and he might be a better passing QB than King. We can't take these guys lightly. On the transfer thing it will hurt college football and players in the long run. A players scholarship can be pulled so if Texas wants a player from a P6 school they can pull the scholarship from one of the players to give to another. Or give them the speech you will never play here so get out. On the other side look at SMU, they found players that are good but played behind better players. So you can get players wanting to play. So you recruit high schools and the transfer portal. To be able to walk away during the season seems wrong to me. They should have to announce before the season or after the season but not while the season is going on. Will King now have to pay for his classes this semester? I think the receiver that left in the same manner was their leading pass catcher. Oh yeah, I was really happy to be so far off on the attendance numbers last week. So all my down voters I was glad you were right and I was wrong.3 points

Reminds me of a larger version of Cobbs. Cobbs averaged over 23 carries a game in ‘03, and had three games in which he had 34 or more carries, 39 being his most in a game. He is our All Time Work Horse leader with over 800 carries in a career. Through 3 games played so far Siggers has only averaged 16 carries a game. Considering he’s larger than Cobbs...I hope they increase his work load as I feel he can easily handle it. Rick3 points

I’m not gonna lie. I’m low-key pissed over this. I genuinely wanted to see Fine vs King in a matchup that across the board looked to be even or giving us an edge. Now we don’t get that. I hope we run them out of town Saturday and then do the same next year.3 points

If I was a Houston fan I would be crazy angry. The same way I would feel if Mason Fine made the same announcement today before Saturday's game. Coach Littrell frequently mentions the character of his players as well as their abilities on the field. He refers to it as their "being a great teammate." This quitter King is no "great teammate." I looked forward to beating Houston with their team firing at 100%. Now, I'm concerned about a possible let down in our locker room. There is a ton about this story I don't know about let alone understand but if I were the head coach at Houston, I wouldn't let this quitter anywhere near my team. Let him officially stay on the team throughout the season but I wouldn't let him travel and I would have him turn in his gear and stay away from the locker room. GO MEAN GREEN3 points

Rice is what I'd call "battle-tested". They're going to be a thorn in C-USA this year, even if they don't catch the contenders napping. I would not be surprised in the least if UTEP beats UTSA.2 points

Certainly heavenly now, seeing as he ran off about 10 years ago... that would be a VERY OLD dog today. EDIT: RIP Ray2 points

It ain’t right at all, Harry. To quote Chester Riley on that old 50’s TV sitcom: “IT’S A REVOLTING DEVELOPMENT!” GMG!2 points

They have to make their decision before our game. Doesn't give them much time to make up their minds, i.e. could make an emotional decision to RS this year before fully thinking it through. Of course it works the other way in that it may be too quick of a decision to make so they do nothing. In other words, I have no idea.2 points

As Tre’s adoptive GMG parent, I approve this message. Especially this week! Let’s smash these dudes while they’re down!2 points

If l’m a Houston player I tell Coach Holgerson not to let King come near the rest of the team during games or practices. He just gave the finger to the Cougar team and community. And yes, I understand it’s all about future money for this guy - but it still SUCKS.2 points

Assuming this O-Line can continue to give Siggers the holes he needs, isn't this the offense we always wanted for FIne? Yesterday he dropped back to pass 23 times, was hurried twice and the only real hit he took was flagged for a roughing the passer (questionable, possibly a make-up call for earlier). he was still very efficient, completing 68% of his passes for 2 touchdowns and no picks. And he drove the team 61 yards down the field in 26 seconds for a FG before halftime. Meanwhile, he handed the ball off 28 times and was out of the game by the fourth quarter, when we were up 38-3. I know every opponent will not roll over like UTSA did, but this is the dream.2 points

Umm, wouldn't that involve running away from the field for the nearest (hopefully not waterless) urinal?2 points

Those of you worried about the our guys slacking simply because D'Eriq King is not going to be playing must think they don't know they're only 2-2 right now. Make no mistake, the Mean Green will play like their scrotums are on fire.2 points

Even if UH & North Texas both had 1 loss it was always going to be day of walk up ticket sales that determine the attendance this Saturday. Almost 50 yrs of all this teaches one a few things about attendance matters, among many other things..........28,550 ✅ A record UNT Fall Freshmen class of almost 6,000 will help us have a great student turnout. Alumni side? Always a crap shoot on our side. GMG!2 points

I thought we had good balance between Siggers, Torrey, a splash of Easley, and our multiple receivers. Lawrence made some big grabs early on. Looking forward to Saturday! GMG!2 points

Please, no New Mexico bowl. Aside from the game, there was not a single reason to travel there2 points

This might be a bit stupid, but what Cobbs has done in a short amount of time is tremendous and I think he is a better overall RB coach than Choice. Yes the players and I loved Choice, but Cobbs is doing a great job so early2 points

I want UTSA ti win that game, just because I dream of Frank Wilson getting another year. I fear NT will not be that fortunate.1 point
