Good point. I also think it helps at the in NCAA has really put an emphasis on academics , or so they say. More schools are making sure the players attend class and get the schedules they need to ensure they are taking classes that will help for their graduation.2 points

We got some really smart student athletes players that will excel in life after football with so many of then graduating before their football eligibility expires.2 points

Kind of like feeling disappointed with a 9-won football team? I’ll feel better when we win the next 3 and sit at 19-2. But would’ve been really sweet to get to 20-1.2 points

Hate to admit I feel so down on this team despite a 15-2 record. But to me they have looked bad the last two games. Don’t get me wrong, I should be more excited about this season.2 points

But the travel was like, really obvious. It wasn’t a borderline foul call. It’s the equivalent of tackling someone on a personal foul.2 points

I do have a graduate degree from A&M to go along with my two undergrad degrees from UNT. I think A&M has a fantastic game day atmosphere, and Kyle Field is one of college football’s best venues. That being said, I’m pretty excited to go to Kyle Field as the enemy, dressed in green.2 points

Someone posted on this site about discounted C-USA Tournament tickets. They are affiliated with C-USA. Let me find the thread. Looks like the all-session tickets are slightly discounted, but I would reach out to the contact to see if there are any other discounts.2 points

We still have an opening. He is still unemployed. I don't think Seth makes a RB hire until he makes sure Graham is returning. @ me next time. 😉2 points

Degree in hand, Jaylon can do what he wants to. Thank you for your service JG.2 points

Regardless of whether or not he is NFL-ready, how can you possibly bad-mouth a kid who has already gotten his degree? Say what you about his drops, etc., but he was a guy that defenses had to account for.2 points

I wouldn't recommend flying to Vegas. The drive is just too far. I would look for flights in to San Francisco, San Jose or Reno. This far out you could probably catch a special rate at some point. You may also want to try Homeaway or Airbnb for a place to stay. They can be a better option than hotels.1 point

Doesn’t the league schedule and dictate officials, and not the school? I love ribbing opponents, but it only works if there is some element of truth to the smack talk. Something that the author of that tweet should consider. Shame on the ref. He was literally right there and didn’t call it.1 point

My H.S. coach in KY (30 yrs experience & coached a couple future NBA players) always told us the you can't stop a man from scoring if he is allowed to travel with the ball by the refs. Seemed so obvious but it is very fundamental to the game of basketball and the UTSA player was allowed to get away with this cardinal violation. You expect traveling/walking calls to be missed in high school level BB or overlooked for special needs kids playing basketball in PE class; but no place for travelling/walking by the ball carrier in the Div. 1 college bb ranks.1 point

We got plenty of guys waiting in the wings to prove themselves. With the way our system uses wide receivers, we should be fine.1 point

I hate that it came against the Boys but what a hell of a game plan by the Rams. Rick1 point

I agree and it wouldn’t have swayed the game because if they call it late we see overtime and you let the players decide the game. This was just poor officiating all around. I am honestly disappointed Miller wasn’t out there and Arikawe never touched the floor after his first early stint. We need defensive guys who can step in. Our offense may falter but atleast put up a fight on the defensive end.1 point

I emailed multiple CUSA officials already and I have video of the last play. It should have gone into overtime. Horrible calls around. These refs cost our conference any chance at having a top 25 team, any national attention for our conference, and even the (very very very small) chance of being a two bid league. These refs should never work another game in this conference. Conference officials should be furious. I also understand we played poorly across the board and probably deserved to lose, but when the refs dictate the game nobody truly wins. The conference just took a major hit.1 point

Holy cow what a missed call! Re WatchESPN it again and he moved both feet at the same time. Horrible missed call!!!1 point

We talk a lot about “what if we won out”, or “look what seed so and so has us predicted as”, or “how many bids could CUSA get.” The ONLY thing that matters, and the only thing that WE can control, is the momentum and support our team has going into and during the CUSA tournament. We win the conference tourney, THEN we can care about March Madness seeding. And we stand a MUCH better chance of doing so with big crowds on hand literally in our back yard. Everything else is just hoping for a pretty record and then praying that’s enough. CUSA tourney tickets are on sale now. How many have you purchased?1 point

Even worse being in it right now. The PA speakers...jumbotron...crowd...band...refs...the list goes on1 point

Records mean very little without the ships! The only thing that matters is winning the regular season title, tournament title and going on to the NCAA’s! Pretty much what our women’s soccer program does every year! Let’s finish the season out strong! Go Mean Green MBB & WBB!1 point

Shorter, White, Ogunmakin, Simpson, Lyles, etc... We have plenty of depth from highly regarded players. Time for one of these young men to step up and take advantage of this opportunity.1 point

I don’t get some of you and your sour grapes on Jalen. Just a few years ago we had a player (I think Feeney but don’t remember) forgo his senior season so he could move on with his life as a college graduate. Everybody was telling the kid thanks for his contributions and happy for him. The ONLY difference between Guyton and him is that Guyton has NFL potential. Get over yourselves and wish him luck. The better he does, the better we look. His success reflects well upon us. And should he fail in his pro football aspirations? He is still an alumnus of our beloved university and hopefully returns to Apogee to support future teams as a productive member of society.1 point

So how does this work exactly from a scholarship perspective... do we now have an open 2019 scholarship for a late signee (like maybe a Juco DT)? Appreciate all that Jaylen did in helping to revive this program! Very talented - sometimes seemed to have lack of focus - but really hope he kills it in the NFL.1 point

Did Ekeler make our defense better while he was here? If so, there's absolutely nothing wrong with his tenure here. And if coach Cooks decides to come here for 1 season and then go to some P5 school somewhere... if our DBs are better for him being here, then I'm all for it.1 point

Ekeler Brought us EJ, Hambone, Eric Jenkins and Baulkman.... I would be concerned also1 point

Nice. I'm not a big proponent of expanding Apogee, but it really would have been nice to have some height added to the visitors side of the stadium when it was first built. It's the one thing about the stadium that bothers me.1 point
-
I wish him well!!! The good news is, we are loaded at this position. I think we can absorb this loss.1 point

Best of luck Mr Guyton. We appreciate your part in our turnaround at North Texas. May you forever be Mean Green.1 point

I just moved to Charlotte; so excited about Mean Green visit!! Can ride the train out to the tiny stadium.1 point

If UNT starts 3-0 and 4-0, then (barring horrible weather), not only will we see the first Apogee Stadium sellout, but we will see the first two Apogee sellouts in a row.1 point

People might want our coaches, the NFL might want our players and high school players want to come here. I don't even recognize this program amymore.1 point
