Personally and without seeing some of them practice or play, I would love to see the following considering Miller and Prior and gone after this year, Loving will be our senior in 14' with the Smith's providing backup.

1. Move Carter and maybe Jones to DE.

2. Move Reinhardt to DT.

3. I would guess Lynn would be more of an H-back with his size.

I think it would have been interesting to see how Cooper Jones developed at QB considering he was a 3 star recruit, but if he is athletic enough to play TE he would be for DE depending on his demeanor.

I'm sorry, but we do we really need 9 TE's on roster. Hell I feel like we don't even have 9 defensive linemen! We do have some good ones and some depth at the TE position at least. There are easily 6 that could see the field this season, 7 if you include Reinhardt.

Keep in mind TEs often grow into Lineman at the college level.

Looks like 4 or 5 solid prospects for defensive ends in that group to me?

Quick, tall, long arms to reach and bat down passes and enough lead in their ass to help leverage the big bastard O tackle across the LOS.

And I'll never understand why Daniel Prior is being wasted as an H back/tight end? The guy was one of the greatest tacklers I've ever seen in an NT uniform coming out of high school. If you saw his recruit video you know what I mean.

First everyone is unhappy we don't have TEs. Now we have too many.

I think we have about the right amount considering some are OL sized blockers first, some are of the pass-catching variety, and some are used as FB/Hback (plus some are walk-ons). For a run-first team, the TE is essential. And if we see more roll out passes, the TE is often the open man.

It seemed to me we had success almost every time we went to Power last year. Don't understand why we didn't try & get him more involved. Hopefully we see more use out of the TE this year

FFR, I agree about Prior and often wonder how he would have turned out had he been left at LB. I have felt he has been wasted at TE/H-back.

I think Loving can virtually replace Power. I hope you're right and we use the TE more.

Yep. Just because he plays an under-valued position doesn't mean he, himself, is being under-valued or 'wasted'.
