Looks like we've dropped into 6th place, just ahead of SMOO.

North Texas and SMU tied for fourth toward the end of the round.

If the end of the tournament comes down to SMU and us on who advances --- that is gonna be pretty awesome.

Check out Ortiz's wildass round, 3 eagles and three double bogey's. Looks like the eagle on 18 might get us through.

Still a looooooong way to go. Thirty six holes remaining is a lifetime. Hopefully we can keep it up. Would be nice to put some strokes between us and 6th tomorrow so we have a bit of breathing room on the weekend.

In a team competition all it takes is one guy to go south to bring down the entire effort. I'm not sure if that is what happened this morning.

It may have been a bad start, but NT is only three strokes back of 5th place with plenty of time to go.

Tied for 5th with Texas at +6. SMU and San Diego at +3 in a tie for 3rd.

NT all alone in 5th at +5. Texas one behind at +6, and Pacific at +7. SMU and San Diego 3 strokes ahead at +2, and UCLA at +1.

EDIT: Texas has now tied it back up at +5...Does anyone know what happens if two teams are tied for 5th? Do both go on to nationals, or is there a play-off?

NT now tied for 5th with SMU at +6.

It is all starting to cluster up now. After USC and UCLA at the top:

Texas and San Diego - +4

NT and SMU - +6

Tulsa - +7

Ohio State and Pacific - +8

I assume there's a playoff of some sort.

Back into a tie for 5th (this time with SMU, who had moved way up the leader board about an hour ago to 3rd. Honestly we've been pretty consistent after the opening 3-4 holes of the day. Some of these teams have gone way up and way down. Watching the leader board has been pretty fascinating.

The only sure thing has been USC to this point.

EDIT: NT has moved to +4 and all alone in 3rd. SMU one behind, San Diego 2 behind, Texas, Tulsa and Ohio State 3 behind.

Man, the course is apparently playing really tough today looking at a lot of these scores.

Also worth noting, Rodolfo Cazaubon is tied for 3rd.

It appears the front 9 plays much tougher than the back 9, seems to have been the conistent view watching the teams as they go from front to back and vice versa.

Basically we have 6 schools...(39)UNT, (26)Ohio State, (11)Texas, (50)Tulsa, (-)SMU and (23)San Diego...vying for 3 spots.
