Having gone to concerts and baseball games at the Trop, that is going to be one awful place to watch a football game.

great location and an easy airport to get into and out of... Looks good to me.. Will CUSA have enough teams qualified for all their tie in's or will a bowl be dropped??

Thats why any new bowl regardless of conference affiliation helps us. Every time a conference can't fill its bowl commitments it opens up a spot for the belt to fill in.

Did I read correctly that the Big East will have 7 tie-ins for 8 teams? I can't see them consistently filling all those bowl slots. Same for CUSA. At least they have a bigger pool of teams to pull from, though the #6 CUSA team vs #7 BE doesn't sound all that exciting...

Since SBC and CUSA are now playing a lot of non-conference games, it would behoove us (and SBC brethren) to whoop up on some CUSA ass in OOC play to help keep their bowl eligibility down (see 2006 SMU bowl game, or lack thereof).

Actually C-USA has a guaranteed contract with 5 bowls for the '08 season and a tie-in agreement with 7 bowls through 2009.
